This is basic math you (should have) learned in school.
It is 5.3 more, but it matters where that 5.3 applies.
Exp gain = base exp x (100% + 200% + 530%), additive bonus
Exp gain = base exp x (100% + 200%) x 530%, multiplicative bonus
to get a general idea of how big this difference is, assume base exp = 1
scenario 1 has exp gain of 8.3 while scenario 2 has exp gain of 15.9
almost a two fold difference just switching additive to multiplicative
Excellent, can you write it out for me?
So what formula is the correct one?
Logically, it should be the first formula to keep all the boosts consistent
else you would end up with a shitshow of additive + multiplicative boosts making a formula like
Exp gain = ((((base exp x 100%) + 200%) x 530%) + 50%)
If you are lost with calculating a simple additive bonus, you should take some time training in Path of Exile.
exaclty this, in other games it matters on what you use first. if u would use the 530% exp scroll last. its on EVERYOTHER applyed buff aswell. its called "Snapshotting" in those games. you can boost your stats, cast an aura/toogle ability and then disable the buffs again. same for exp buffs...
BDO should just make that exp scrolls/buffs are applyed AFTER everything then it would be much easyer to understand, and value. (Right now they couls say + 9000% exp and its still not realy noticeable)
0,1% per mob base exp
+100% weekend event
+20% gems item
+20% pets item
+10% costume item
+10% value pack item
0,26% per mob "unbuffed" with item effects and events
+ 530% scroll buff
-> 1,638 % per mob
Make Buffs apply after everything else (item effects, events), like every other game has too. thx
POE has snapshooting, so it depends When u apply what at what moment. to get crazy effects.
This is how I would expect this to work using an imaginary 100XP/kill value.
No boost: 100XP/kill
100% boost: 200 XP/kill
100% + 200% boost: 400 XP/kill
100% + 200% + 530% boost: 930 XP/kill
No. That's completely mad. Why would just one of the bonus in the pile of all bonus behave differently. That would be far more confusing for players, and a huge pain to balance for devs.
You guys didn't get the calculation and are disappointed as you were expecting more, that's ok, move on.
Going by all the calculations in this thread, it seems most everyone has a different opinion on how this bonus system works.
So I would have to conclude most everyone is lost.
no its more like - there is a system that works, and it works as intented but some people dont understand it
Not everyone, no. There are some people who did the maths according to the most logical understanding of the mechanics, and the practical results confirmed their calculations. And there are some people who invent new rules on how these items work and guess what, their results ingame don't match. Instead of admitting their mistake, they claim the item is broken.
Whatever. Have fun.
basically she wants multiplicative instead of additive
If it was a different way to write it, they would operate the same way but according to everyone explaining how the exp gains work in this game, I can assure you it does not work the same in the other MMOs I have played.
"But you should get 5.3 times as much because that is what 530% is."
Which is saying it isn't working. Since you like to go on semantics. All your responses were saying the same thing. Except you had no clue how it works to base your view on.
You do not need to as @Paric explained that but in a much more civilised tone. Also I do not have all those other bonuses you talk about. I have maybe one or two pets that give combat xp and whatever hidden xp gain you get from knowledge. Also I have not said the 530 scrolls do not work my comment was that it should give five point three times more base xp.
its not like the 100% weekend and bell buffs are propably active for you to or something, wich would perfectly explain ur scrolls giving less then that exact 5.3x multiplier of urs
Okay, explain the difference between 3x exp and +200% exp.
No I was replying to that persons comment that said
"530%does not mean 5.3 times the xp that you normally get."
