Cant you imagine what would happen to those ppl if they made their names public? I think its for their own safety that its not being made public and again, just because other regions/companies do it, dont mean everyone has to.

So basically corruption. Games like GW2 ban big streamers for exploiting a typo. EvE has banned entire corporations, including their own employees. Here we have exploiters (including streamers) caught on video, and they immediately get unbanned when they complain. Pure Corruption. There is a reason why Kakao is considered a poor publisher in the west.

The reason you announce all bans you do is to show that you are indeed working on it and to communicate. Communication is increasingly important in building trust with your playerbase. Announcing them also makes your company look good as you show that you are putting out effort before the complaints come in. There is no reason to not announce bans. Further, by being proactive, you fix the issues before they have a chance to spread. Basically by being proactive they could have stopped the large exploits/bots/hacks before they became well known and effected the game environment. I also doubt that they've done bans outside of the ones they have announced.

They don't make the actual names of the players known. They simply put a family name. Literally nothing personal is stated in the ban lists (though in KR, the account is tied to the online ID system meaning it does have a farther reaching effect).

Again, the communication isnt happening because most of this "community" is just plain toxic. You think anybody wants to communicate with that? Both sides need to get their **** together. They do something nice, they get **** on. We do something nice and provide feedback, PA fks us over.

You know how you fix that as a company? You start to communicate and back up what you say with actions. You don't just let it fester because then it just reinforces itself. It is never ever easy communicating with a player base, but you do it because it builds trust and build confidence in your consumer base. Community managers and public relations teams exist exactly to do that.

the two specifics you named are larger companies with a lot more revenue sources behind them, with bigger well known brand names that can suffer the losses like a tissue in a waste basket.

Corruption? Whom is to say yay or nay? But it certainly is pointless to witch hunt.

But I will agree that if unchecked for too long, it does have a negative affect on the loyal fair-playing fanbase

that is purely upto those publishers, and are following the mentality of their local customs. That's about all that can be said

The publisher is Pearl Abyss and Daum (owned by Kakao) and as for local customs, local customs in NA involve outing hackers and cheaters of games publicly.

You do realize Kakao is a very large company right? They netted 12 billion dollars in Q1 2018.

Video evidence is not a pointless witch hunt. A witch hunt would be if there was no evidence.

Kakao is a Korean company with a history in Korean games, in Korea. You forgot the little office in the Netherlands is not "Kakao", even though they are now a "subsidiary" of Kakao from having been purchased. Subsidiaries are like limbs on an octopus, they can be cast.off without much loss to the main body.

The two aforementioned are western companies with bigger audiences (and their pitchforks) in the west.

Sadly, the structure and location of a company play a big part in how a company or its branches are run, or issues handled.

This is one of the reasons that the KR player base's voice has.more weight than ours.

Think of it this way. We are still operated by Daum, whom we were in the beginning. Kakao, by purchasing Daum, and as an investors, gets to play "the lazy boss". Only sad thing is, its crappy green beer for these workers instead of Blue Beer and Oatmeal.

In the end you have to ask yourself would another company handle the situations any better? Maybe yes, maybe no. But location of that company does play a big role in the general life and problems of a game.

Give them time as it will take ages to scan all individual accounts for cheats, theres like what 1 million players?

But yes we still do need to keep the presure on them to make this happen eitherway.

You just said in a different way that they have a bad organization & internal communication on top of not having any single respect for their customers & their "own" product.

At this point it doesnt matter where they are from.

You know theres a difference between finding a vulnerability and knowing what the vulnerability is to fix it right?

You know there is a source code of said hack floating around for about 2nd month now right? You can find it publicly displayed on Github with instructions how to compile (if you are not coder).

Second thing is, this ban wave is not targeted towards this specific speed hack it was a scheduled ban wave that would happen regardless of latest speed hack.

In fact with banning hackers yesterday they used an old detection method that didn't TOUCH our current problem at all, it has hit only a small portion of them that used some fairy small and unknown P2P "private" hack or just plain cheat engine memory editing table.

There is NO excuse for this fiasco we are in now. No EXCUSE. Kakao had source code available for 2 months already, they had full software released ready to download for 6 months now and they came up with nothing yesterday, absolutely nothing.

If you all are fine with that idk what to say.

"We are working on it ... more to follow?" Guys you should have 10 different solutions by now.

I never said it was fine. Was the GitHub script even reported and video tested to show PA? Sorry but you never said anything about the source code being publicly available lul. Not only that they probably don't even have anyone specialized in fixing vulnerabilities like these since it's a KR game.

Talking with and working with people who work in companies with offices around the world, a competent company adapts to the area they are in. Even adapting their product to that market. If that means making sure the game is hack and bug free, then so be it.

You are pretty much making excuses for failure at this point.
