its basically the same as kr except we get delayed contents and no daily grinding scrolls
I spent 100k thousand euros on costumes and melted them to cron stones got full pen now and i still lost to enemy sorc. I didnt win
Nope. It was p2w for a long time. But it was bearable. Today they just crossed a line, where they increased it to a state where you are locked out from the pvp part of the game unless you pay a lot for it.
Its more like Pay 2 Loose honestly... because you not winning by getting PEN in ded game, but you sure are loosing $$$
As somone who defended the bdo is p2w for years
This is actually the tipping point and we are 100% in the “p2w” catagory now
The effects are mild still and the game is still as accsessable as before
hi, you may not be aware but there is already a megathread on this subject being discussed. Along with many other of the same topic. You are welcome to.join in on that discussion
The Age of the Whale has arrived
As far as I know, you can melt your premium gears into cron stones.
Let's consider this :
A premium outfit gives you around 219 cron stones, (if not more, but anyway).
One cron stone = 1 million.
Which gives you 219M for 34€.
Now if you do some math :
102€ = 657M
204€ = 1,314 billion.
340€ = 2,190 billion.
All of this free earned with your credit card.
Now I'll let you come to your own conclusions.
So, how am I supposed to find the motivation to grind or do anything ever again in this game, when someone can just swipe for one outfit and get 10 hours worth of grinding? And he can just do it again endlessly. I will never be able to touch pvp again... PvP was the only reason I was ever willing to grind, so, what am I supposed to do now? Am I just supposed to leave after spending all this time and money on this game? I wasn't done with it yet... This is just extremely frustrating.
And sure, you could argue that the game was already p2w, nothing changed etc.etc.... But that's not true. The scale has changed. There is no way to keep up with credit card warriors anymore. None.
Just leave like everyone else?
I am too invested to just pack up and leave... That's the problem. Besides, what other games are there to play? I tried nearly all the MMOs. This was the only one I liked.
just quit temporarly. stay up to date, but dont log in, because investors are only checking numbers and if they see the daily login of bdo, they will invest more, thus following bdo to advertise the game even more and which follows to new customers.
There was no need for this kind of behaviour... Bloody Disgusting.
@OP I am so what in the same situation as you, I'm mostly going to move to Life Skills and PvE for now and let all this calm down.
Whatever you do I wish you all the best
This is nothing new. This is the standard path of Korean MMOs. Once they lose their appeal to potential new comers. They start squeezing their vet players to find whales. Now the whales will fund the game. Newer players will just quit before hitting lvl 56. Vets will get wrecked by whales.
Nothing new here happens with all Korean MMOs once they lose their charm.
I bet now yall are wishing that BDO was new player friendly. So PA didn't arrive at this road so fast ah! Now welcome to the age of whale!
Typical response from someone who doesn't care if the game comes crashing down instead of wanting to salvage something redeemable.
Well, even though I am a vet and I spent a lot of time getting my gear, I still wanted BDO to be new player friendly. I would even be okay with everyone getting a none-enhancable soft cap gear for pvp. Anything that could bring more players into pvp... Instead these nice p2w mechanics will just increase the barrier of entry even more.
I don't think any serious pvper would want easy targets... Where is the fun in killing ppl with your gear alone. That takes away all your glory...
Too invested is another saying for I'm addicted to most people... Just can't accept it , too invested sounds better in their head than flat out accepting an addiction.
Too invested lol... You quit for a week, guaranteed you will try to log back in for 5 minutes and immediately leave the game again because you will realize how much of an addiction you had before.
Give it up, this game is dying anyway
Your worried about ppl who buy costumes but not ppl who get 3.9 bil weekly payouts from sea monster hunting for months? lmao.
