Just took it now and it says 4255 people playing BDO 38 min ago. (patch started almost 3 hours ago)
But it's middle of the patch. Can we trust these numbers?

and Has BDO population reduced gradually?

Time to reduce the number of servers and invest on quality server, don't you think?

PS. I know PA built pile of buildings in most expensive town in South Korea. so spare us some qualities.

I'm guessing that steam counts the players who just have the game running (in main menu after getting disconnected for patch)

This only shows the steam community and doesn't reference the original population or anyone that has picked the game up through the BDO website vs steam. So you can only really use the numbers as a best guess really. The number of servers are just fine as it is currently but I would agree on needing better quality servers and/or internet providers to the servers.

Could very well just rely on who has the launcher going.

    BDO Population falling down coz:

Extreme hard enchant from TRI to TET - PEN
Drop Items harder in EU vs KR
    CLASS Balanc still not Complette
    Progress in game is SLOW

That's steam you do realize the universe does't revolve around steam. Majority of the players of bdo are not playing the game via steam i am one of them. Which makes this silly basing BDO's player population on only one part of the player base >.>

No it is not a reason, bdo is for most of ex players just pure P2W with no end game content at all.

Steam population in every game goes up and down check the 24h peak still one of the top mmos in steam. And if steam numbers means everything for u according to steam charts we got more players than FF14 that says has 4mil subscribers.

thats a number of steam only players when most of us actuall players did not sign up with steam for this so real numbers are atleast double what it says, that is if numbers arnt artificially inflated though.

The charts only show the number of running games. Makes no difference if they are on the "you got disconnected" screen (gpu burnin ;) ) or playing on another server. Maybe you can even start the non-steam version of the game via steam...

Yea, I guess coz even though the world has tripled in size and many many more grindspots available, everyone still complains that everything is overcrowded?
I guess you don't play the game a lot huh? So obvious the population did *massively* increase over time, and there's no stop in sight, it got worse and worse over time, imperial deliveries unusable, karma discussions all over the place etc... not exactly what you would find in a "dying game".

Most of those players are AFK, so I wouldn't care, really.

Falling population... Hence why grind spots are always occupied most of the time.

That only counts for steam players. The number of those specific players are higher though.

Ye, all of the 15-20 currently most popular & meta- grindspots are always taken!
