I am not home right now but I think I have a very minor overclock. power is set to 120% and at 4k I notice it goes to 110% often. If i drop the res down to just 1440p then it doesn't hit 100% power usage very often.

Which means your CPU or something else on the system may be a bottle neck.

For reference, I am running a stock 1950x.

Ya people do realize you have to have a 4k screen to truly enjoy this game in 4k. Its like expecting 4k from a vhs cassette movie made in the 80s just because you have a 4k screen.

I like playing close to the screen so 1440p is perfect for me. The problem is the dynamic lighting is out of whack. The pop in still sucks at Remastered, Ultra mode doesn't do much of an improvement as graphics go but does murder your fps. I did a speed run (for my horse anyway) to see if the pop in would be gone on ultra, even with the lower fps the game was pretty smooth on ultra, but not worth the fps drop imo. Fighting with full effects and max settings still was playable.

You need to connect via display port cable, 4k and 30+ fps is too much data to fit in HDMI

I think my CPU i7 7700k is like 19% overclocked since that's what it says when it boots up lol

I'm connected via display port cable. And today, it still won't go past 30fps running 4k resolution.

Not a fan of 1440p. Still 1080p is the standard for most content, native resolution looks best, and many games (and apps) don't have proper scaling, makes reading text uncomfortable. Bought 1440p Acer Predators a year ago, and exchanged them for 1080p's again after 2 weeks.

Another benefit, getting higher FPS at higher quality. Once you get used to 100+ FPS, everything below looks kind of cheap.

I also wish, BDO had proper Multi-Monitor support, the UI restrictions are really bad and make no sense to me. The peripheral vision adds another level of immersion, which you don't get with one 4k monitor either.
