I've heard examples of companies declining to use so-called free content because it wasn't attached to any license. I think that's because lawyers want things to be clearly defined so they don't get caught by some kind of legal backlash they couldn't predict. I'm surprised they would be against the creativecommons license as all they would need to do is place a small disclaimer on the store page that the trailer uses X music and they would be allowed to earn money off it. Speaking of marketing, there's a couple of other things I find odd about the contest. Since this is about the Remastered version of the game, wouldn't you want to avoid music from the old version of the game? The only sample music we got was from the non-Remastered version of the game and I'm not sure if they ever clarified if it was okay to record music from the game itself so we could use the Remastered music. There's also several nominated videos with audio cracks and pops.
