If that was true then people would play the latest addon and the company would have not released classic, again.
Also EQ which is lauded in his OP is down to 10s of players and their multiboxes. Their design choices didn’t age well.
Look Bro. If you want to play WoW go and play WoW. But dont you dare turning BDO into WoW clone #142135454.
Making pve "harder" won't work in the current game. Take a look at rift bosses ******** hitboxes and teleporting.
bdo doesnt have challenges, its mostly gear checks, mechanics in pve are almost nonexistant unless you are puffing the magic dragon for half a day.
You guys are sort of missing his point, which isn't wrong, stop being over-protective/tribal and just discuss the point. Because the current death penalties in BDO are so absurd they can't be applied more freely to create some tension in PVE.
No. You're missing the point. Every day that goes by some pleb says If BDO was more like "insert dying MMO here" it would be a better game. No, go away.
main issue with death penalties is of course that pearl users would just laugh at it (exp loss at least)
The world is upside. I agree with 2 cents on this and disagree with Kauni. Wow did exactly that. It died because it systemically caved to forum dweller complaints and caved on its defining core fundamentals. Wow has influenced the market so much that mmos are typically wow clones. I play bdo because I dont like wow clones. There are a bevy of them to chose from and I have always gravitated towards Korean MMOs. The difference is I dont go to wow or a wow clone and complain it isnt more like a korean mmo.
Maybe it’s best that BDO also not cave to forum dweller complaints and cave on its defining core fundamentals.
Bdo is still a Open World Pvp-Economy driven Sandbox Game, where you grind for the best in Slot stuff to compete against other Players ... Exactly like Eve Online and almost all other Sandbox Mmos out there? You can't compare Core Mechanics of Classic (Open World)Themepark MMOs and Sandbox Games, thats exactly why they are named like this, because they are fundamentally different. Different People, different taste its that simple guys. There is no perfect mmo and there will never be one just because of that taste difference. If you like to play Sanbox games and are used to this genre than you should know that YOU are responsible for your Goals and Challenges. Games like this are NOT made to take your hand and carry you through the world, questlines, whatever exactly like WoW and all other One Sided Snake Level Fiestas. The only reason why people are playing such Games like Wow Classic is because they are used to that kind of gameplay because all these years in the past, those mechanics dominated the market, but that also made them boring as frick to many other players. Why people still play Games like Wow? Whats the secret? There are many reasons for it. The most important is the actually Storytelling through Character Dialogs and Cutscenes they add recently. Those are nice mechanics in the front end to hide the ugly boring repetive backend. Thats probably why everyone hates the newest Wow addon btw :x
You nailed it. Even people that completely agree are so triggered they refuse to discuss the situation even if it means improving the game and their own experience. The topic had nothing to do with WoW, the market or any other games. It was a simple specific dissecting of the death penalty and how revamping that along with other changes could make the game tougher.
Your suggestion of revamping death penalties and "challenge" isn't necessarily rewarding to players who enjoy the game as is. Even if they did implement this, I'm sure you'd later post how BDO is just creating problems so people buy Elion's Tears.
Son ................. and those who thought it was a good idea to like that post Millions of people tried BDO they Just don't want to stay for reasons, well we all know why ;)
So what? Millions of players register for most MMOs on the market at this point and they appeal to only a fraction of that playerbase in the long term. It's not specific to BDO.
Are you still trying to figure out what happened to Archaege? Got any hand drawn maps of where the hurricane is headed?
