    My thoughts:

"Absolutely average. The water dragon was cool but eh. It's a cinematic. It's insulting how much time and money BDO takes to progress just for them to flush down the toilet. Feels like a scam that will just be repeated whenever PA gets tired of putting effort into CDO. I will never play another PA game after BDO. They had a good thing and they didn't know what to do with it."

Maybe a swamp dragon or something.

But yeah, not breaking any new ground with the characters or setting. And that cliche Scottish fake accent. Ugh.

So, exactly BDO aesthetics with improved graphics, starring Jon Snow.

john snow ripoff is pretty bad. Such a lack of imagination even more after reading that :
Macduff is the leader of a mercenary group with a tragic past. Distressed over his responsibilities, he must survive in the deadly lands of Pywel
    https://community.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?threads/g-star-2019-press-release.506117/

    that's so random and boring.

After, like i already said, the PA map designer, do such a really amazing work
But PA also mean : no gamedesigner, no content, no challenge,no direction whatsoever other than milk hard with trash scam / casino RNG tactic, since they have seem to have learn nothing with BDO in 3-4years ( other than push p2w ), i have absolutely zero faith for that """game"""
Certainly going to be another beautifull looking scam

Will still check where they are going with that "single player with multi content "mmo"" But i bet so hard on another BDO with just better graphic.

Love it how they write actual game footage and we all know that all of this is not going to be inside... THAT content should have been IN BDO not in a cinematic for BDO 2.0 xD

As i heard, this is just something out of the story campaign.

Anyway, not impressed and told me nothing. Could have been a trailer for some new story patch in BDO.
Will wait and see actual gameplay, specially the PvP content.

I also hope maybe they considered no gender locked classes this time (always thought it was a silly idea). One can hope as long as the game will be good that is.
Not getting my hopes high anyway. I highly doubt the game will make any hype, just wait and see if anything good comes out of it.

My impression is that I'm not impressed. Happend thousand of times, seen it thousand of times. Doesn't seem interesting in the slightest, just looks pretty but it's only a wrapping paper.
Just like in they did in BDO, they will soon end up putting content after content, never fixing bugged ones, just adding bugs on top of bugs, p2w on top of p2w, until eventually they get to a stagnation point in their business graph model, and make a new game. And then repeat.

No respect for the game company which clearly doesn't give a poop about the state of their own games/products. Or people playing them, or peoples opinions about their products... or anything even. They pulled the plug on BDO too soon and they will plug it on this one as well.
It's like when a person just can't care for their pet, they will always mess it up no matter how many chances you give them. Because they simply don't care about it and its well-being to begin with.

Will I try the game? Yes most likely. Will I stick with it as long as I did in BDO or even close to that? No thanks. Maybe I'll play it for a week (haha). When I started BDO I at least had hopes. But now that I know how Pearl Abysses storyline goes, yeah no thanks.

I'd like to point out that this isn't all just 'cinematic', it's in-game cutscenes from the story of the character of the mercenary leader Macduff, son of Martinus. Hence, all of the focus on him throughout it. Think of it like a Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer, or a Witcher 3 trailer—little peeks into the story. It's basically in the 'Story RPG' format: Slow pans over environments, a man riding a horse in the beginning, narration, random character voice clips, random fighting and dramatic parts in the story, etc. The point there is the story of the single-player campaign, not the MMORPG aspects.

So, it made me very curious about what the actual MMORPG aspect of Crimson Desert (supposedly different from the campaign) will look like since we saw absolutely none of that.

If the campaign and MMORPG are entirely separate, for all we know some of the areas they showed won't be accessible in the MMORPG—or might be different maps than the 'MMORPG proper'. Since they're developing this MMORPG with a single-player campaign (games like CoD also call their solo story modes 'single-player campaigns' so I'm going off of what it's meant in every other instance prior in a multi-player game), I don't really know what to expect. I'm interested in the campaign in of itself though, so even just that would've gotten me playing.

I also really was impressed with the graphics, but I think PA needs to turn down the expressions a bit. Some of them were pretty unnatural/uncanny looking. It was impressive considering the most PA had before this was just NPC characters with blank expressions opening and closing their mouths with less-detailed faces, but some work is needed.

Creature design looked great, was really cool to see BDO locations reimagined into a slightly different universe, made me realize how watered down and often not-very-grim BDO is in its presentation. (The actual lore is another story, but they often don't show the darker elements.) Since they said that this isn't a prequel or sequel of BDO, I'm really curious to explore a new world they've made and begin to dig into its lore. Overall looks like it could be a fun single-player campaign experience, but I'll be waiting for the MMORPG side to Crimson Desert too.

(Macduff is also cute, which is a plus.)

I'm at a loss. On one hand in typical PA fashion art looks good and everyone has an accent so that's different. However.... what am I to make of this based off only a trailer? I think they would have done better to announce it after they had already made some in-game models showing off just a bit of movement, then again PA don't show bad graphics. The amount of info given is far too small for me to criticize it on its own with out me mentioning BDO. Also on that note, why a pre-cursor and not a total new isolated land mass or a new game separate from BDO. its in the north with snow and barren lands however in BDO its more eastern with a forest. They are going for this Nordic feel but..... is there any point to? This is gonna serve to mess the lore up, i personally never seen a MMO release a 2 then a 1. I'll hold off on any major complaints untill i get more info to work off of other then a pre-rendered cut scene.

Well, I kinda think this is a bad idea from a business perspective. I predict Shadow Arena will also flop. They don't understand their own games or the context in which they can succeed.

I'm a huge fan of the character/creature designers and animators at PA. That's why it sucks so much that their brilliant work is basically wasted by this greedy, cynical, directionless company.

As I heard them say "... single player mmo-rpg ... " I now have a good overview of how the mmo and rpg aspect in that game is / will be.
For sure the focus will be single player experience and not multi player experience.

After watching the trailer, i got the impression they will not abandon BDO at all.
Because Crimson Desert looks like a Witcher game at worse or Star Citizen( Single player campaign Squadron 42 with Open World Mode) at best.

One thing you didn't saw in the trailer was your character. Meaning, you will be playing as Macduff - meaning this is Witcher like game.

The fact that they haven't show any MMO elements in presentation meaning it not the focus of the game, more likely just a side element for you to do something after you finished single - player Campaign.

TBH i am disappointing. When they said 3 Faction survival MMORPG - i though it would be PvP focused. But when they showed " Villians" as a bunch of NPC, this is totally destroyed the immersion that got build up in my mind about CDO.

Not a BDO killer at all.

PA themselves never said "single-player MMORPG". The campaign was just probably easier to develop and show off at this stage in its development since they've only been working on it for a year. I am definitely curious to see what the MMORPG aspect will be like, they could honestly even have an MMORPG team that's mostly separate from the single-player team. They're a billion-dollar company now, they can do a lot more than they could when they first made BDO.
From what I can gather, it's just the single-player campaign that they showed and we didn't see an ounce of the actual "traditional MMORPG". They've said many times now that there will be both. Think of it as an MMORPG game, but you can also play a Witcher-like story about a character in the same world. Basically two games in one. That's how I've interpreted it.
This setting is only inspired by BDO's lore, but isn't BDO's lore at all. It's a different universe. The wording from the presentation confused people, but they were just talking about how they came up with the concept.

Sure. Let's hope that this game will do things right and will be worth being called a mmorpg.
