UPDATE/FOLLOW UP: The original post for this talked about the seeming disparage between the Damage received changes given to DK compared to other glass cannon classes such as Archer. https://imgur.com/a/wpo5jRW However in light of some of the comments/discussion below of people saying that DK was already overtuned to begin with, which is why they're damage received percentages are lower; I've changed this post to focus on how to fix awakening. While it seems like succession is in a solid/strong place Awakening is still lacking. So this post now focuses on how to address trying to bring Awakening on Par with Succession. (Or at least as close). Most DKs will say that awakening hits very weakly compared to most other ranged classes unless you hit a very high AP. Compare it to Archer for instance who has multiple high damage ranged skills with KDs or witch/wiz which etc. I feel DK awakening needs to be brought up to be on par with that. While Archer hits hard and CCs he's incredibly squishy so he fits the glass cannon role very well. DK however only has a couple of useful skills in awakening that do decent damage. It really needs some love. I agree a flat damage increase might not be the best solution, but perhaps some skill damage increases to the less effective skills and protection added to certain skills. Here are a list of incremental changes they could make which I feel could help bring the class on par with Succession: Adding stiffen back to spirit hunt and returning Super Armor to Twilight dash would help give DKs a couple of CC engages/protected gap closers. Change the stiffen to a KD on seed of catastrophe (this gives DK a mid range KD similar to archer). If too OP the KD could be on only the flow portion so it takes a little skill to catch them on the second strike. Returning frontal guard to trap of vedir - gives them a protected backpeddle. Fix the potato skills: "Touch of Exploitation" and "spirit blaze" need to be completely reworked. Touch of exploitation is mostly useless IMO as it's too slow and clunky to be used in PvP and it's barely useful in PvE. Spirit blaze is a bit faster but has lackluster damage for PvP and it's flow skill is too slow to be used in a PvP situation so it's again pretty useless. Those 3 skills need to be greatly simplified and sped up so that they are useful. Touch of exploitation could be just the quick upward slash of the animation and instead throws out a wave of dark energy like Sorcs "black wave" and have it float people or push them back. Also increase this skill's damage so its in the 800-900% range Spirit blaze could be a single horizontal spray of swords (similar to the mini explosions of the current skill) which could be a decent mid range AOE similar to black wave and stiffen people. This skill also needs a fairly big damage buf so its in the 800-900% range. Flow: Spirit Blaze just needs to be sped up significantly so it's useful. This can be done by removing the "Drawing the sword up from the ground" animation so it is an instant slash similar to pervasive darkness or enforcement in unawakened. Maybe give it a bit of a damage buff so it's in the 800-900% range. Adding some kind of CC and animation cancels to grip of grudge as well as increasing it's range would also make that skill more useful. Damage % could be added to the weaker skills particularly the closer range ones. Most hard hitting Awakening trees have skills which have 1200-1500% damage (witch/wiz/archer for instance which are all ranged DPS classes). Where as DK awakening is between 800-1100% with some skills as low as 600 and 700%. It would be nice to bring those up to at least the 900-1200% range to be on par with other classes. Obviously those would have to be judicial and put in the right places but 1200% isn't much more for their hardest hitting skills and bringing the lower end skills up to the 900-1100% range Isn't too unreasonable I feel. Obviously making all of these changes might make DK awakening too OP but its a list of various buffs starting with the protection and CC changes which I think they could make incrementally until the class is up to par with succession.
