We will see how far i get this time.
Each time i have tried to like the game i was turned off by the boring combat. Sure its really cool and flashy but what i actually mean by boring is the PvE is boooooring.

The AI is super dumb and they pose no threat to you. Have they they increased the difficulty at all?
I come from Guild wars 2 where in the expansion zones you can still have a good challenge and mobs actually pose a threat, yet everytime i played BDO i never had to heal once and the mobs just ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, flailing and screaming while i murdered them.

I get that the game is a PvP game but from what i understand you will be grinding the mobs a ton in the end game and if its not any better at end game than it has been in all my attempts, am i wasting my time? (The highest LvL i have gotten to is around 45)

Thing is the game is really pretty (except the horrible 3 feet in front of you grass and tree pop in) But i am really bored lately with gw2 since i have been playing it for 7 years. Even though the combat is still really fun..... I have done all the content a million times and i am waiting for the next expansion next year.

So to put it simply. Does PvE get any more difficult in the end game? I do want to get to end game PvP as well.
If not they should make a server with more difficult PvE for those of us that like that kind of thing :P

Neither PvE nor PvP got improved .. by the way the whole concept of being an OW MMORP game is to be questioned ...
BDO drifted long time ago from MMORPG away to a huge collection of simulation and casino games.

The game is definitely not a pvp game either. I think you could call it a time sinking life skill simulation game at best

A good way of playing BDO is to use the grinding (mobs or gathering or sailing or fishing, whatever) to clear your mind and approach the pvp like an arcade game modded a fair bit beyond its limits for remote multiplayer

Considering you haven't even unlocked Awakening yet, you're missing out on a huge amount of content. PvX gets better as you progress.

Well, you´ll certainly reach a high AP Mob spot at one point, where the monsters will require some fair beatup before they drop dead. But if you mean by "difficult" that they get smarter or do something else than just attacking you in repeated patterns then no, not really o.o

Nah the AI wont get any better and thats intentional

I mean they even have a fixed number of how many mobs can be active moving and attacking you while all other mobs on screen need to wait until you kill an active mob to become active too.

abandon hope for better pve , the game focus is time sink not challenge

If you don't like life skilling, I wouldn't mess w/ BDO. The 'crafting' and 'enhancement' system in BDO is cool, I think. It's not deep like some other games, but it's not bad, either. Mobs are trash, but... mobs are trash. GW1 was a pretty hard pve game; didn't play 2, but I imagine it kept at least some of that.

You can put yourself in a hard situation in game, but generally it's not doing anything but inefficiently wasting your time, when you'd get more rewards by doing something you can do more easily. Rift Bosses are hard if your gear is really trash and they are high level. World bosses and field bosses are something, I dunno if I'd say hard. Field bosses are harder (also less reward?) cuz usually nobody comes to them. haha. If you find a good group to play with, it'll probably be fun for awhile.

It is what it is. I wouldn't worry about graphics, if you think the graphics are the only redeemable trait in this game, stay far away. That's the realest advice I can give you. The game play, esp if you've already experienced it and are meh about it, is never gonna make you love it.

PVE in BDO is less about engaging and responding (except rift bosses and some other 'bosses') and more like harvesting trash loot from thicc mobs.

Endgame grindspots are where it's at, low lvl mobs are weak. But as soon as you start reaching Hystria, Aakman, Star's End, and the new 300AP+ dungeons mobs will kick ur ass

Just go ahead and stop your download. This games pve while yes end game spots are harder, but with gear it becomes the same dumb braindead grind. Everything in this game is overcome simply with enough gear, skill will never play a part in bdo.

    Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear that you were unimpressed by our PvE content when you first played. There are many aspects to the game for all types of players. Level 45, is definitely not high enough to get a feel for the later content in the game as most of the "end-game" content takes place around 61+. I would recommend sticking it out a bit longer and see if meets your expectations.

In regards to adding a more difficult PvE server, you can certainly make that Suggestion over on our Suggestion Forums and we'll be happy to consider the idea :)

I got an Archer to LvL 51 this time but to do so i had to skip through all the text of every quest as it was pretty boring overall. Really love the game play of the archer though and that's keeping me around for the time being. I'm going to attempt to grind out the 61+ and i hear its gonna be quite the trip to get there but ill tough it out this time.

Again i know the game is PvP based but are you guys ever going to add stuff like dungeons? That would go a long way making more PvE orientated players happy lol.

    Cheers

We're always looking for ways to improve. I can't say for certain if instanced content like Dungeons or Raids that you see in WoW. But we're listening for feedback from the community about what they would like to see and we're passing that along to our developers.

IMO adding group dungeons might destroy that, which you described in another thread - "enjoy the game your own way rather than focusing on what is the current "meta".

As both a player and a GM I can see it from both sides :) I know that the community wants new content and something fresh that they can get their teeth into. At the same time, you might be right and group dungeons might indeed destroy what makes BDO unique. But of course, that's all hypothetical and it's something that we take into account :)

Yes, that's why I said "might". Dungeons are a very cool thing, if taken by itself. But then come the players and...ruin the experience. IMO it depends how important the dungeons will be for gearing and whether there will be alternative paths...If dungeons are the fastest way (not saying the easiest, just the fastest), then..yeah. The game will become like WoW. Some classes are invited, others are not, "link dps meters", etc.

I personally like challenges, but don't want them to consist of group dramas. On the other hand BDO lacks some more new and "fun" content, so it's a difficult decision indeed for the developers.
