    Greetings fellow Adventurers! hi-onion-head-emoticon.gif

This project stands to represent every players idea, desire, wish, and thought from the weirdest of notions to the most sound. Unlike previous endeavors in the past which focused on a group of people or single persons representing multiple players, we hope this project to function autonomically in representing each player singularly, but also as a whole. Instead of a group attempting to compromise and haggle over "what is wanted", each idea is shared and recorded in the Library, forever to be available when the feedback well runs dry.

This project comes with three separate but linked parts. (A) The Library, a catalogue of players ideas and suggestions, permanently recorded and indexed by category, broken down into singular lines of entry; (B) Player Satisfaction Surveys, which are intended to focus on a particular set of topics and draw out the general feeling of the respondents on the subject surveyed; and (C) the Library Discord, where we can talk about subjects, refine our ideas, and have a cup of tea. In this combined manner, players represent themselves, and together as a whole, in hopes of improving the game we enjoy for ourselves while we play it, and/or for the future players that may come to enjoy it.

We must fully understand, and emphasize, that not every idea or desire can or will be selected by the developers. Many players have many ideas, and while many of those ideas sound great in theory, it is always at the developers discretion as to what they feel is best for Black Desert Online. Our Goal is to simply present our ideas in a more fashionable, organized, and constructive way so our ideas paint a bigger picture of what we would like to see and enjoy.

    Notes, Disclaimers, & FAQs
First let me express gratitude and appreciation for all those that participated in the previous suggestions megathread. Many great ideas were shared and collected, and many were sent off to the developers as the fruit of our organized efforts. It is unfortunate, and with heavy heart that I bring forward this news, that due to a technical issue, the previous GDoc Sheet was lost.

We are not sure of the specific details as what happened, but we are prepared to move forward once again, better and stronger than before. Although I am sure that many of you, like myself, may feel dismayed at having your input lost to "the Nothing", worry not for our next endeavor will be immortalized in stone and shall withstand Time itself as we move forward.

(Old Structure)(How we used to do it)
In the old structure, players could submit their ideas to the Library's Live Form. These ideas would be automatically registered and catalogued into the Library Main Index automatically. Monthly "popularity polls" would be used to gather votes on each entry. The problem with this structure, as we noted, that the sheer volume of suggestions was ballooning too rapidly for the Library to keep up with. Additionally the quality of the submissions was not being taken into account. To rectify this, we adopted the New Structure.

(New Structure)(How we do it now)(2019)
Under the new process, players can submit their ideas to the Live Form. The live form populates an internal collection called the "Polling Station", where duplicates and "obvious trolling suggestions" are weeded out. Feasible or reasonable entries are then sent to the Discords "reaction chamber" (#incoming-fsn) where discord participants and upVote/downVote the entries via "reactions". At the end of the month, the entries with the highest reactions will be sent to the monthly "Popularity Polls" which are debuted on the public forum for Community Voting. If an idea in a popularity poll gains significant support, it will then be sent to the Main Library Index and registered with a BDO# and its poll results in the form of "popularity stars"

This new process effectively creates a "Triple Filter" to balance the quality and quantity of ideas & suggestions, allow for fair and due process of the individual to submit their idea as well as the right of the community to weigh in on those ideas.

Question - "How can I send my suggestion to the Library?
Answer - If you have a large suggestion, that has a lot of detail, make a post in the Suggestions Subforum. Our discord bot will automatically receive your forum post. If you have a short suggestion, use the Live Form, and our discord bot will automatically receive your entry. Alternatively, you can join us in discord and discuss your idea with your fellow community members, and one of our support persons will gladly assist you in filing your suggestion.

Question - "I don't Discord, can I still submit my idea?"
Answer - Yes, of course! Use the Live-Form or make a forum topic in the suggestions sub-forum. Our forum bot helps us keep track of forum posts in the suggestions sub-forum, and we will respond to your thread regarding your submission.

Question - "Is there any feedback the Library does not cover or communicate?"
Answer - Yes and No. The Library does not document or discuss Bugs, Exploits, Cheaters, or Hackers. All of these categories must be submitted to Official Black Desert Support Staff by using the Ticket System. We do however keep internally apprised of these situations and communicate them with the Staff Team.

Question - "What is the difference between a Survey and a Popularity Poll"
Answer - A "survey" or better known as a "Player Satisfaction Survey" aka "PSS", is a specially designed survey that is crafted around a single subject. Multiple questions, ratings, and scales are used to gather aggregated opinions on the subject matter in order to focus on specific problems within the subject. The results from these surveys are displayed graphically so that the Staff can quickly gauge the overall trend-lean of opinions around the subject matter.
Answer - A "Popularity Poll" is a monthly survey that lists individual ideas that have made it through the first phase of the Library's suggestion filtering process. Each idea can be voted on, and the votes are automatically registered in the Polling-Station. As the votes continue to tally up, they form "Popularity Stars" or "PopStars", which are graphical representations of vote counts based on weighted ratios.

Question - "I submitted my idea to Live Form, but I don't see it in #new-ideas"
Answer - The Live Form is not automatically fed to this channel (reasons). Each month 35 to 50 ideas from Live-Form are sent to this channel manually, in order, as they are received. However, there are occasions where we may skip around the queue depending on the current concern of the community. Additionally, there are some subject matters that the Staff may be working on personally and thusly suggestions regarding those contents are reserved until that process has run its own course. Additionally, there may be New Contents that simply need more time to be experienced before "pushing" suggestions regarding it (for reasons, such as "emotions")

Question - "I submitted my idea a long time ago, and I never saw it in any of the polls. Is there any feedback that the Library deletes or removes?"
Answer - Absolutely not. One of the main goals of this program is to permanently document every players submitted feedback, whether big or small. While not everything from the Live-Form may go through our processes for one reason or another, your submission is permanently recorded in the "Polling Station" (our secondary index) with a Serial Number. As with all Library documents, this index is under the ownership of Kakao Staff and they have access to everyone's recorded feedback at all times. The only exception that is made, are duplicate entries in which a suggestion is the same as a previously submitted suggestion.

Question - "I see a suggestion that was recently talked about has appeared in process before another suggestion that was submitted previously. If you go in order down the index, why did the newer appear before the older one?"
Answer - There are two reasons for this occurring. The primary reason is that because everyone's feedback is catalogued with an automatically generated serial number, we can not delete lines in the index. However, we must remove duplicated entries in order to keep the index organized. When a duplicate entry is cleared, it is replaced with an entry from the bottom of the index. This effectively reduces the amount of workload in the backend where we index and catalogue everyone's submissions. The secondary reason is that sometimes there may be a "hot issue" among the community and in order to assist facilitating quicker feedback regarding those issues, this also gives us the ability to move an entry "up" in the queue.

Question - "Is there any type of oversight performed on the Library and its processes"
Answer - Yes! Absolutely! Our main purpose is to assist collecting and organizing your feedback and suggestions and ensuring the Staff have those submissions readily available if and when they are needed. This is why all of our documents are fully owned and accessible by the Kakao Staff at all times. Even if there is something that we Ambassadors may miss, or even if we ourselves make judgmental errors, your submissions are safely in the hands of Kakao Staff. Nothing is ever lost, negated, removed, or simply "tossed".

Librarians assist the Staff in organizing the programs internal documents, keeping the sanctity and security of the Library Program within guidelines, collaborating with players and team members to foster the positive growth of constructive conversations leading to new ideas and feedback in various ways. From time to time, additional volunteers may be selected. (More information in the future)

    Hub & Centralization
This topic thread's sole purpose will be to act an "Anchor" for the Library Program, to describe the program and provide updates to the program as it evolves. Feedback on the program itself will be collected from this topic. We welcome all suggestions and feature requests and will do our best to help serve our community going forward.

    Ownership & Integrity
All project documents have been transferred to Staff Ownership as requested. New documents as they are created will be transferred once finalized. Project Coordinators will have access to main sheets and able to assist in organization and small editing tasks. (2018.10.10)

    Backup & Retention
In order to prevent loss of player collected feedback, and insure integrity and longevity of the project, and to prevent unfortunate unforeseen obstacles, the documents and topic will automatically backed up via multiple cloud services.

    BDO NA/EU Player Satisfaction Surveys!
The surveys are a series of organized questions designed to target specific feedback from the community to better assist the Publisher and Developer in delivering better service and an overall better game-play experience to the players. All entries are completely confidential and will be provided to the BDO Staff, only, for review. Certain graphical analytical charts will be available below in a report generated after the conclusion of the survey.

You can find a complete list of all surveys, their respective forum topics, and their results,
under the "Survey Link List" page, of the Main Library Central Document

    EUNA Feedback Library Discord Server

The purpose of the Library Discord is to serve as a live-communication center for the EUNA FLP, and to assist in facilitating Library processes. The same rules apply in the discord as they do on the official forums, however, the discord is held to a much higher standard than "common forum atmosphere". We maintain a sense of proper etiquette and decorum when engaging with others, at all times.

The following examples will not be tolerated:
    a) ranting, raging, "temper tantrums" or personal fights with other members
    b) pornography, racism, hate-speech, etc
    c) anti-game, anti-company, or other types of "soapbox rhetoric"
    d) disrespect towards other members including staff and developers
    e) spamming, mass-mentions, emoji abuse, etc
    f) antagonizing or belittling others, or attempting to provoke another
    g) general toxicity towards others
    h) discussion of religion, politics, or other "worldly inflammatory topics"
    i) discussion of game breaking bugs or exploits
    j) other non-specific examples a program coordinator may find not healthy for the program

We ask you to please keep it PG-13 and we appreciate your cooperation. Please try to keep discussions in the appropriate channels as much as possible. Moderators reserve the right to keep the discord chatter within program protocols. As we have invited the BDO Staff to participate with us in this Open Community Discord, we ask that you do not message or ping them. They are very busy keeping the game services in check, and will participate with us as they choose to do so as time allows.

Additionally, Bug Reports, Exploits, Reporting of Players, etc will be deleted from discord without warning.
Please use the BDO Official Support Website for reporting these issues via Ticket.
Rules are subject to update without notice, as the program continues to evolve.

Deve, our Guardian Bot, employs a very extensive banned-words list, primarily composed of racial slurs, lewd & sexually vulgar phrases, etc. Although we have optimized his word filter as best as possible, there are cases where he may trigger inadvertently, so we advise against excessively long posts as we can not recover whatever he deletes.

The following is a short guide of the structural layout of the Discord.
Please use the appropriate channel, for the appropriate content.

    **Stay Tuned for Updates**

    Roleplayers, Storyline, Lore & Localization

In a preemptive measure for upcoming surveys series regarding Quests, Roleplay, Storyline, and Lore, a collection form has been crafted to collect suggestions for revisions to particular parts of localization throughout the game in a collective effort to make the Storyline more coherent, polish up rough edges, and possibly improve on BDOs lore.

The Localization Form can be used to submit (suggestions) single lines of text that you feel could be revised, and revised in what way, to make a particular part of the story tie in better with the overall storyline throughout Black Desert.

Localizing is a very rough job, especially when multiple languages are involved, and many times meaning can be lost along the way making stories and lore appear to split or not mesh well together.

Thusly with your assistance, perhaps we can collect ideas and suggestions for revisions to particular entries of text that may better assist with that development.

Lines of text that are involved include dialogue with NPCs, tooltip texts on items and objects, names and references found in knowledges and quests, bulk text from quests and other references.

Every single line of text in the game has a specific unique identifying index number. As we can not have access to this information, it will be necessary to provide an image link (uploaded screenshot) of the text to be revisioned.

The following live form will populate its own page in the Black Desert Feedback Library, and comes with several inputs.

    • Localization Language - the language of the text being submitted
    • Identifying method - link to screenshot of the text involved (or other identifying method)
    • Text in question - the text that needs to be revised
    • Text replacement - the suggested revision to the text in question (in the selected language)
    • Feedback - why you believe this revision is necessary and how it would help tie the Storyline together more accurately
    • Additionally you may also use the above form for suggestions for text revisions in which there are simple spelling errors, grammatical errors, symantec and syntax errors.

As localization is a very very big task that is by no means an easy accomplishment, this project will stand as a "project over time". As with all coordinated feedback projects, the ultimate decision lies with the developer and/or publisher.

Here is an example of a localization suggestion submission, using the above form

    *Update*

An additional category has been added to the Live Form "Suggestions Category" list : " Environmental /Game World"

This category can be used when requesting improvements to certain game world resources or environmental variables, such as:

"Please adjust the candle light of "insert chandelier name here" when viewed in "insert house number location here"

    Or

"Please fix the coral reef above Pirate Island", "most of the coral reef above Kuit island can not be gathered"

Please include a screenshot of the environment referenced, in the media links section of the form.

    Hello everyone!

One of the goals here is to gather material that has been discussed by many players and not just individual ideas not taken seriously by any other user, in this way, we can show the community's ideas and concerns to the developers in the most reliable way.

Thank you Andaro & Company for your very hard work. Thanks to every player who will collaborate in this program. We want to submit constructive feedback every week to the developers and this, if kept well organized, will be much better and could potentially attract developers' attention even more than before.
Please contact and collaborate with Andaro as much as possible and we will all certainly benefit from it. <3

I do it every day, for real! :)

The main issue is that many changes in the past went directly into the patch notes without announcing that it came from the community feedback, therefore it seemed hard to believe but that is what happens in a game that is patched every single week (except this one XD); unfortunately the time is very short to communicate what developers are doing on a weekly basis, but trust me we always kept them very busy with players' feedback.

Please pass it to your friend as well:D

I remember the general feedback being against the pay2win shitshow that happened recently, yet I don't even feel like anyone in the team cares as you are making more money.

I understand what you mean here, yet we did our best to alleviate that sentiment by giving to the developers more ideas like introducing different ways to get Valks' Cry (Fairy Blessing) and more, even cutting other parts. So far that was the best we could do, but for sure we keep monitoring the feedback in this regard and share all your concerns on a weekly basis.

Now that suggestions forms are back I can't wait to see what comes out from your new ideas towards the recent updates. :)

Yuki, believe it or not you guys did very well with the implementation of Valk's Cry, and I haven't heard many people voice opinions to the contrary. The ability to get them from loyalties + fairy petals is wonderful.

The major disruption came from being blindsided by costume melting. Many, many players are still seething and very upset about that change in particular and every time you bring up the way you implemented Valks Cry it seems very dismissive because we know that you know that isn't the issue.

Anyway, it's good to see you in this thread.

@Andaro I have a few suggestions regarding worker empires:

    • Fix the text clipping when viewing worker stats (movement speed, work speed, etc).
    • Make it so that investing in node level affects the quantity of resource gathered from workers. This would have no effect on the time the worker spends to complete the tasks. Pearl Abyss has acknowledged that they know people would like to see a feature like this several times, but never followed through. It would be especially beneficial for valuable resources like Trace of Savagery, Powder of Earth, Eggs, etc. It would not have to provide a large increase, but it would give people an extra energy dump and they would be happy for it. Could potentially result in increased sales of Kam Blessings.
    • Add Master and potentially Guru rank workers for worker empire. Why isn't this a thing already? A lot of people haven't rolled or upgraded their workers in over a year because they're all artisan. With Manos update coming, players and the marketplace will need the additional materials an update like this could provide. PA/Kakao would also stand to benefit from a lot of instant worker promotions being bought.

I would also like somebody from PA/Kakao to officially tell us what the worker stat "Luck" does. The player consensus is that it has absolutely no effect on anything at all. Please?

I know over a long time I have personally witnessed and talked with players that have discussed why there are not "Master or Guru" worker promotion levels. I can only venture guesses as to why it was no so in the beginning, but because I have seen enough talk of it, and I quite agree that players would enjoy this, it had already been recorded in the Library under Ref# BD0036

To the Worker Node levels, I have heard many thoughts on this, some positive and others negative, as it has been a discussion had for a very long time now. Some say it does increase the amount of materials acquired, but only slightly, and others say it does nothing. Personally I have noticed a slight improvement on the amount of materials collected, as I have leveled up my Grain worker nodes, but as I have not scrutinized before and after, I could just be mistaken. Nevertheless I believe this is an important part of the game that players would like to know about. As such, I have entered this note into the Library as a Communications Request / Developer, in hopes we might have some light shed on this. Ref#BD0092

The worker "Luck" stat, as many life-skillers suggested, that I have spoken with, increases the chance to proc on a rare material, such as Traces from an excavation node. Nevertheless, many players have also wondered about this for quite some time, and thusly this has been recorded as a Communications Request / Developer under Ref#BD0093

(i have a feeling that Worker Node Level, and Worker Luck Stat are related to each other, the same way a Node & Player Luck Stat are related)

And I believe this is what you are referring to in regards to "Worker UI text clipping". This note has also been entered in, Ref#BD0094

Make it so that having a hedgehog lets you proc bonus milk if you choose to gather from cow milking minigame...

Milk is too scarce and it will only get worse with Manos butchers knives.
