I would guess that most of those exploiters are laughing their heads of at the very weak punishment they got. By the way I doubt that there were very many that did not know they were exploiting.

I don't understand why people think this is NOT an exploit. It parses outside any high end grinding in game. I meant if you are a brain-dead twitch viewer I would say yes maybe you were easily influence by a streamer. But come on now 2-5 billion per hour.

Reread all of section12.1 under the terms of service. It specifies that any punishment listed under there is possible and isn't limited to one specific outcome. It strictly states that you will not exploit. If you exploit (or do any other action that breaks the tos), you may be banned temporarily or even permanently. When you agree to the tos, you agree that if you break the rules, you agree to any punishment listed on the account. it also says if an exploit gives you any benefit, they have the right to remove said benefit at any time. It's pretty clear. You have no right to be upset.

Also, are you literally admitting to taking part in the exploit or what? If what you say is true, then it just looks like you didn't exploit enough for them to verify that you exploited, and thus you received no punishment. This makes your whole bit about being upset even less valid. lol

    You're talking about this right?

Basically one could argue still that they had no idea it was an exploit, because as a developer, you obviously had to make the mistake of putting it in the game the specific way in the first place, and every event says you can do it once per family, while another event notice says any abnormal way of entering is punishable (Conflicting information.)

Pay very close attention to 12.1.4

From a legal stand-point it's all important information to know the facts, and document everything especially if you took part in what a game company calls an exploit for a (Legal Defense).

In a court it doesn't matter what a person says it matters what you can prove, I've already been in two legal disputes One for not honoring warranty, got me $1500 USD back, and one game company from Google Play, not providing services as advertised another $500 or so refunded despite Google Plays agreement due to the company refusing to honor as advertised.

    ^ Obviously
the company in question that tried to rip me off $1500 tried to screw me in a settlement, but because I don't just sign stuff and took it to my lawyers they were abled to settle on the dispute, and make sure I didn't get F*****. Though it's not likely i'll ever do business with them again.

What one in theory could prove is that the company allowed this in the game, and they had no idea it was an exploit obviously this is Null & Void, if the company, or they released evidence that proves they actually had knowledge in-game, or other and that went to court to be used against the accused.

To me Kakao, needs to update the Terms OF Use, to be a bit more specific, and cover mistakes made by developers like the (SEA) version has.

    Also to me,
an exploit would have to be a bug in the coding, or accident left in the game by the developers in terms of like glitching a boss fight to one hit a boss, unlimited HP, Skills that perform in a certain order and have a weird effect, but even then a user would have to be aware that it's an exploit, but rather the whole issue with those maps is still the developers (Intentionally leaving it there), and not properly testing, or checking the permissions on the maps and such so it really wasn't an exploit, but rather an oversight.

So the idea is that since the TERMS OF USE doesn't cover the "SPECIFIC" exploit that means it should not be considered an exploit.

If I go to a casino and try to cheat it, it doesn't mean it's a cheat because the rules of play fair don't cover it. I can use that as a DEFENSE! WOAH

Absolutely do not doubt you, I listened to leaked recordings, I know that some guilds were clearly aware of it at least certain members because they were talking about it on discord.

^ But at the same time you have to account for anyone who may not have been in the call, or actually know about it, plus players like myself simply invited to run a lot of scrolls in-game without knowledge which is why I am glad they didn't ban too many people unlike the other company from EU region.

I mean it doesn't have to cover a specific exploit, but when the developers release an in-game event and specify two event rules.

    - Once per family ( or account)
    - Any abnormal way of entering an event

You generally have to look at this and realise that the devs had all the power to set the (Flags) properly on an in-game item, and no actions were actually taken to exploit a game mechanic other than people registering a lot of accounts which could have been prevented (Legally) as per the (Terms OF Use) by,

    - Adding a line restricting the number of accounts per Machine / IP address / Hardware ID or (Person)
    - Bans on all temporary email account services / domains
    - Adding a line that includes developer oversight (Not really exploits) but similar to the (SEA) version to include unintentional errors made by devs.

There are just so many things that went wrong with the event, and as a player of BDO since it's launch, I just feel like they need to do more to prevent such in the future, and the best way is to just add a line or two to the terms of use and do better testing / checks before release of updates.

As far as the casino thing :P, Card Counting, is a skill, but many casinos consider it cheating, and there are many ways to cheat slot machines as well, they got documentary on YouTube about it, though it's much harder these days in theory though depending on how they are built and security since it's all electronic, you could still cheat, and legally you can buy your own machines to test security with them.

Dragon you are of course entitled to your opinion of this. And to state that you don't believe it was cheating, well I'll leave that adjective for you to determine.

I personally believe most, I didnt say all, of the people running this multiple times knew exactly what they were doing and that they were scamming the rest of us. IMHO an exploit used is scamming other players not the dev's but hey thats just my humble thoughts on the matter.

You believe that people didn't cheat, that of course is your right. You have defended those who did this and personally I believe you are one oif those that you're defending.

You got away clean just like jack the ripper and everyone else that helped themselves.

Here is a thing most of the casino's develop their ways to fight against cheating through long periods of gameplay. It was an ongoing development but they never updated their rules against it. They never add specific lines to counter cheaters. Card Counting is still ok with Bacarrat. But the thing with Card Counting Casino's just pretty much counter it in Blackjack by adding more deck of cards. Most Slot machines are computerized so yes their might be a way to hijack it.

The thing is during this ongoing development including slots machines they added security features with their games. LIke I've said about adding more deck of cards to increase the variables. Or adding safety features with their slot machines and cameras etc.

They never updated their "terms of use" legally. One day some guy will develop a new cheat in the casino go on a floor and use it. New exploitative gameplay. Guess what it is? It's still cheating. That's what an EXPLOIT is.

One thing is for sure. The devs in Korea know not many will cheat in their game due to the fact that there are severe penalties for cheating games in S.Korea. That they all have the legal power to apprehend and convict people who cheat games in S Korea. Maybe that's why when they release events not that many will think forward that this event can be exploited. But it's clear what the event was for NEW and RETURNING players.

They even add this in every event: Any exploit or abnormal ways of entering in-game events may result in giving your account a big fat loan.

    Don't worry guys.

They banned some fishermen in the banwave.

Not the top 1% geared players who knowingly exploited and mocked people about it.

    But some fishermen.

Yes exploits are bad and players should be punished for using them, but developers fckd up (aka mappers) - is developers fckd ups and usually developers dont punish players to hard for that ( i mean all developers not only PA). But fish bots is another level, they know what they do and what punishment they'll get.
