I don't care P2W player opinion. So: give me even 10 000 caphras for free. In this game only events give the player something. Playing, killing mobs is pointless and frustrating with toxic open free pvp, channels change cd and no fast travel system. Same. I sold almost all items from all event boxes, zero mobs grind, almost zero own enchant and now I have 270 AP (full tet) so only last step - casino p2w pens. Muuhahaa. Best tactics for BDO? Events, barter, life skill. Stay away form toxic "red zones". His dirty resell business has collapsed.
Nah, they wouldn't. More likely the player base would drop due to not having any reason to even log in...
I kind of doubt this for a couple of reasons. BDO, hands down is an amazing game despite it's myraid problems. All problems aside, be it cash shop, class balance, or otherwise, BDO seems like the best MMORPG for the foreseeable future. Those basic problems just mentioned plague every MMORPG out there. Looking back these past four years, there just hasn't been much innovation when it comes to MMORPG in the way BDO has done, especially in the combat aspect. Let's face it, every MMORPG comes become repetitive. However, the fun comes through that repetition when it's made enjoyable. In other MMORPGs, you either grind dungeons or quest, or PvP, etc., same as BDO. So the whole point of repetition is moot. It's a foregone conclusion. After that, you want two basic things in an MMORPG: looking good while having a fun combat system. BDO more than exceeds in those two departments. Yes, there are other MMORPGs out there that are more traditional in feel, but none of them beat the arcade style that is a grinder's paradise with BDO. In any MMORPG, grinding is your majority and primary function: which is what BDO excels at easily. All that said, BDO has room for improvement. Group play options definitely need to be expanded on without removing the fantasic native solo experience. People **** on BDO plenty, but at the end of the day, it's an amazing game. So yeah, reward or not, you will still have a solid player base. BDO is that good. Add a few things to BDO and it becomes the next gen WoW with it's own personality.
OP clearly said in 2:45 that he enjoyed his free Caphras. His complain is that the marketplace prices will drop and he won't be able to make the same Silver/PH for some time. Black Desert Online might have some flows, but one of the best things this game offers to it's players is the free gifts.
Why use that thread as example when its already well-established that the feature does not work for endgame horses?
Because getting Free Stuff and mostly 80% Playing Afk is very Hardcore like Grinding brainless 12 H each Day....
Say what? I am all for them stopping all the freebies but I don't go around calling people parasites. I also do not afk. No horse training, no fishing, no afk combat or skill training, zip, nada, my pc is turned off every night.
I dont know if hardcore is the first word i would use for grinding, maybe exhausting, boring and unfun would suit that better.
It was a comment to "BDO becomes a Themepark mmo, because of the parasites casual players that infest it." Quotet wrong was Thinkint it will double Quote. This Game is already Casual u can Afk everything like a Mobile Game, Grinding is not Hardcore its Casual u don't need a Brain for that etc... Without Casuals this Game would be already Dead.
This video is BS (IMHO) 20 000 000 free capras should go to the market but I see in stock 9 356. Where is 20 000 000 capras? Where is problem?
That's actually Factorially incorrect: Black Stones: There are low level areas in the game today that drop as much as event rates in the past. Hard/Sharp: These drop at 5-10x the prior rates Distortion Earring: This item drops at a significantly higher rate than Basil Belt, Centaur, or Crescent Everything PVE is much easier aside from areas 99.9% of the player base never grinds.
Imagine making a 5 minute long video complaining about getting 200 free Caphras when they gave you a free alchemy stone last season that's miles ahead of Khans stone of Protection, saving everyone upwards of 7billion silver meanwhile this server we're getting a Pen Capotia belt that's officially put Tet Basilisks on suicide watch. Hell, look at the level 60 and 61 rewards for leveling a season char, a Pen Tuvala Ring which is a freebie Tri Crescent Ring that saves us 1billion and a Pen Tuvala Earring that's a sidegrade from a Tet Narc which saves us 3billion in silver as well...
it may not be apparent to the untrainted eye, or the newcomers such as yourself, but as years go by, OP's points become more apparent. We should have less dopamine boosters and more actual content that makes vets want to remain - those who have awoken from the gold rush. The simple thing such as adding a working arena with queue and ranks, not half-done stuff like the arena we have now that must be rented. It's not about complaining, its about wanting to make this game better.
I think you sorely miss the mark. I am a casual player. I absolutely want to play the entire game. I am not going to spend 100s of hours farming a specific spot to get an item that allows me to actually play the game. I farm materials all the time for things like awakening a horse or fail stacks or upgrading a boat. If you think playing a game is monotonously farming a single location for a specific item in a world that has life skills and is at least 154 sq miles, you're crazy. Do not confuse grinding tedious rng as playing a game. People want to compete in pvp, they want to sail the world and fight vell and garmoth. They want a farm empire. You are approaching this single mindedly. Not wanting to waste your life farming some pixelated garbage to attempt to pen it because you have to work, raise a family and have a real life. Doesnt mean you dont want to play the game. No one is asking for easy street. But yes, the casual player, the one who statisticly pays more than you to keep the game running, is very happy with the state of the game. Season server and passes is the single smartest revenue stream they have come up with. And be thankful people want to pay for it or there would be no game for you "true" gamers.
idk, it seemed clear to me that OP isn't making an argument for content sake but more for the sake of "this is how I make money and these events are hurting me".
I've got news for my NA people that think oasis was a "mistake"; remember how the caphras market was for the last 8 months? Well imagine that but for Sharps and Hards, the caphras problem was a testament to our lack of gatherers, EVEN THO you can get caphras by grinding too; imagine not being able to do a proper enhancing session for weeks because you gotta either wait for POs to go through or gather every day till they stack up, idk about you but I've taken a healthy dose of member berries and I member what the sharp market looked like before Oasis and this was before Season were even a thing, which without it, it would've made the Value Pack preorder number look like childs play compared to the POs on Shards. Cant say for EU tho, I guess you can be mad at Oasis if it would've not made a difference for you either way. but free stuff is still free stuff xd
I can see how these free items can hurt lifeskiller's income. Esp in EU where caphra's and other gatherable materials are already low price. Heck, even cron meals being free hurt our cook's income in a way. But I think these free items are necessary for the game to succeed, least in the big picture. 1) Free items keep more casual players interested. The game is easier than ever to progress in now, and with seasons, so many new players are injected into the game, which is a good thing for this game to succeed. 2) Bulk free item giveaways give a boost every now and then. The 200 caphra's quest was similar to last new year's Lara quest. Near the end of the year and beginning, the game gives huge bulk free items, like crons, and these events help drive our gear to stronger levels. 3) The game cannot survive as a truly hardcore mmorpg anymore The industry is constantly evolving. BDO used to taut itself as a "hardcore MMORPG" back in the day...sadly, the game isn't nearly as hardcore anymore. It's much more casual friendly now. This is good for new / returning players and players who aren't that hardcore...bad for the hardcore elite, to some degree. But as a "hardcore player", or one that is able to amass at least 1 bil everyday, the way I see it, you'll still be miles ahead in terms of income. It's just that the rest of us can keep up with content at a reasonable pace. I like free items. This is without thinking of others who are negatively affected, just IMO. But with my gameplay style, the more freebies, the better lol. A 301/301/341 casual's GS needs to rise, baby.
Your comment was addressed to my post that said nothing about themeparks. It made no sense to me and neither does this reply.
