On a moonless night, the usual noisy, crowded Velia could feel a bit off.... (see screen shot) upload_2020-5-1_16-12-22.png

Wouldn't it be nice, to add a touch of warmth to this place that I call home? (photoshopped roughly):

Maybe there could even be some interaction or movement incorporated to make the city looks more alive in night time. That would be interesting. If anybody has any cool idea on top of this, feel free to share too. But I think the lighting thing wouldn't be difficult to do for the development team?

I don't think lighting in the houses will work as they are partially player used houses, but I get where you are coming from.

But how would they get the power to generate all that light? If they put goblins in giant hamster wheels, it'd add depth to that one quest in Velia to catch runaway goblins.

I like it. There should be lights coming from the windows at night. Maybe not all of them. But most.

Also, Fix the lighting inside houses please.

Love this idea, especially in the inns / taverns! And not just Velia but the other cities too :)

Good idea. Just not as bright as your suggestion please as houses use candles for the most part.
It auto turning off during the night could be cool. Especially as back in the day, people were not staying up long after sunset.

Yah, thatds due to my limited photoshop skills lol.
Final fantasy 14 did a good job on this detail, but also needs to tune down a bit (see image).
However, the residential areas of that game is often empty as hell. BDO did a much better job to make the city with player housing feels more lively IMO.

Its hard for us to image how people live in the past, therefore we created the fantasy type of world

Call the firefighters, the interios of the houses are ablaze. Some light would be nice, but certainly not in all windows and not that bright.

Velia is a small fishing town, people at the night goes to their bed and sleep.
Also candles are expensive in this time of the technology, plebs living there can't really afford it.
