GMs need to be in the seasonal servers.

There are only a handful of seasonal servers, and the server chat is downright awful. With so few servers, there needs to be GMs in them nonstop to be watching server chat. New players are getting extremely frustrated at the amount of "lol google it", emote spamming, vulgarity, ASCII images of breasts and dicks, RMT/service offerings and the general lack of help.

So please. Just be in the servers and temp-ban the people that deserve it. The #1 this game loses potential long-term customers is when this kind of behavior is allowed.

The experience would be five thousand percent better if the chat was just moderated.

What's even worse is Pearl Abyss expected those same players to regulate game play among other customers in an Open World PVP environement.

Yes that's right. The same people spamming emotes, racist statements, and vulgarities are the SAME people you are supposed to contest areas for.

    What could go wrong?

Bah there's no way for the chat to be so spammy and annoying for the new players, as the spam that PA themselves threw on the new players by their annoying and pointless notification spamm and popups. The UI literately looks like a shitty add ridden website, some random ASCII images on the server chat barely changes anything here.

    No.

Disable server chat and world chat as most of us have, or spend some time updating your custom chat filter and blocking specific users. Restricting the speech of others is not the answer no matter how much it offends your (obviously) delicate sensibilities.

The #1 reason people quit this game is because of the gearing and upgrade system, not the state of server chat.

    Google it btw.

they aint gonna put resources into something that they dont care about, specially when they are woking on the A:IR (name changed to Elyon) project, specially when its still unclear wether they will keep publishing BDO or not

You should stop having this reaction against it. Its just what they want.

People risk their accounts for exploit-gains. Surely they have absolutely zero regard for following some chat rules.

    LOL

you expect them to pay sombody to literally sit there full time reading server chat?
Thats like roughly 40 channels, multiply that by 3 for 24/7 coverage and you have minimum 120 people, add another 15-20 to cover sick days/holidays ect to monitor chat to ban the people not being helpful enough and posting pixeled hentai in the chat to avoid you getting offended

that alone is probley the entire development team size and budget for the game

and you’d want all that diverted to chat banning people? LMAO

Moderate the server yourself, that is what the block command is for. I am sure many seasoned MMO players out there now how and when to block. Those new will learn very quickly.

Too many rules to follow for server moderation by GM's. They have better things to look after.

If you feel offended by pixilated breasts then the internet is not your place. Granted this type of childish behaviour is annoying but thats entirely your problem. Obviously if it goes against ToS then thats another thing. But Kakao themselves dont give a damn about their own ToS, so there is that. If you need proof on that just check the current piloting situation.

None of that stuff should be a problem if you learn the high art of not giving a sh't.
Except RMT. Obviously if you see that kinda stuff then its time to send in support tickets.

Yes, what should we expect from people that do not have any respect to begin with ? No matter pvp or pve the problem lies in people, so if you put rules without anyone to enforce them, they'll be ignored by this kind of players.
That's what happen, no matter the game, if the rules are too soft and/or not enforced it WILL happen.

You have all the tools at your disposal to block out any and all chat that you find triggering... Just an FYI.

true, add that also BDO also act on player behavior, when the game only deliver a pretty toxic gamedesign in general, its not surprised to have more players been lead by that in their behavior.

While there is "bad seed" ( lets say it like that to be more convenient ) everywhere no matter the environment, the environment also play a big role.
I dont say its BDO fault for having toxic ape in BDO ( before any pepega jump on that missing the point ) at every corner, but that "game" sure do also play a good role in bringing out that out of more ppl than it should.

Report the idiots, send a ticket. It's what GMs/CMs often suggest in threads like this.

Actually you don't. There are far to many names and easily changed. Especially from 3rd party companies. There are also issues of just spamming the chat so making it difficult.

The only viable tool people have is shutting down the chat entirely and relying on PM/Guild.

They have these things called chat filters, maybe you should take advantage of them like normal people do.

To moderate in-game chats would require both Kakao and Pearl Abyss to be competent companies, which we both know they are not, so they never will. Just turn off your chat and let the edgy 12-year-olds cut themselves.
