It's been so long since an MMO released anything remotely original. BDO and those people who make it (and keep it what it is) do this. Thank you It was snowing last year it game. My guild had been having a hard time keeping memberships. Oh sure, lots of new people had joined the game, but Seasonal characters were not even a thought in our minds. What was in our minds was the obliteration of our ability to group. You know how hard it is to get people to have fun in an MMO where they came to play with friends and the MMO is like, "Hey? You got friends? We aren't about that here. See this party size limit? Right. Well that's your friendship limit. Don't like it? Find another game." And so as the ability to play together with one another fell off a cliff so did our ability to retain people. Another thing that really keeps the game just from ever retaining people is the issue that IF it does allow you to group (big if) the OPTIONS for where to go have been either too few or not enough with ZERO effort in making any of those places visually interesting. Finally, if you do find a spot that is visually interesting to spend months and months at AND it allows for grouping... everything dies in half a heart beat. So, my guild got together one night down at the elf towers in the Okiara River. It was snowing that night. Absolutely beautiful. There were auroras in the sky. Everyone was saying how beautiful the game is, but how much the loot system and group issues are just killing player retention. And then someone blurted out, "What we need is a Castlevania style environment! Wouldn't it be great if there were was a vampire castle up on the mountains behind Mirumoks?" And now you release a Vampire's castle region BELOW Mirumoks. Perfect! Better still... the enemies are actually fascinating! The landscapes are visually engaging! Best of all! The creature don't have an instant kill attack nor die instantly TO attacks. We get a full dramatic experience of ACTION and... wait for it... combat! It's like we you gave us the game we paid for again. So, huge thanks for finally listening. We still don't have the 5 person party content back, but we got everything else. Great job. Also, thanks for bringing this out in time for Halloween. Perfect timing on the release date. P.S. Also, thank you for the way you worked the stun effects with the Ahib this time around. The knockdowns in BDO are absolutely terrible mechanically. Complete loss of character control. It seems like you learned how to give proper "tells" to the stun attacks and not make these creatures like Leebur where you get attacked by a 'twitch' from him that is usually not visible at all, leaving our characters frozen and unable to do anything for many long moments. It's like you put honest work into this. So, tremendous praise there again. Fantastic work. Thank you for this.
