I wanna say it's supposed to be pronounced "Yohr-doon", since the korean name is Yoldoon.
Since when do Koreans even Viking?
Would be surprised what anyone would come up with, with the right motivation/inspiration. The spirit of the raider will be instrumental/useful...in raiding your wallet (well not "you" you but you know....you).
And Jordan is pronounced "Urdun" in arabic.....well technically "Al-Urdun" but still.
I would say it's more like "Yur-doon" or "Yer-doon", because the "ör" is pronounced like the "ur" in "burn" or the "er" in "her".
You know that a 2 handed axe can be a polearm? Or a hammer can be a polearm?
Polearm basically just means a weapon with a long stick. So slap anything on a long stick and you'll end up with a polearm.
"A pole weapon or pole arm is a close combat weapon in which the main fighting part of the weapon is fitted to the end of a long shaft, typically of wood, thereby extending the user's effective range and striking power."
So saying "i told you all it was a polearm" after it was datamined that it's gonna be a polearm is a weird comment. The question was not really if it's gonna be a polearm but what kind of polearm (2handed hammer, 2handed axe, spear, halberd or something completly new).
And where is it said that she's a viking? Sure, she has a viking vibe to her, but that's about it.
The lore just said that she comes from a cold place as far as i remember it.
The class was rushed (stated by the dev comment for koreans): They wanted to bring all successions by the end of 2019 but didn't manage to do so but still wanted to give the players something big, so they decided to release guardian earlier than it was originally planned.
It's also probably the reason why her preawa skills (where she summons the little earth rocks) are simply copy paste and only rearranged.
Pole implies the method of use of arms which is a weapon.
i saw awa grab and i instantly was like : AD MORTEM INIMICUS
Looks like a Polearm to me, but yeah, totally lovin' that weapon! ")
It looks pretty. I would call the weapon just a 'fantasy polearm' since it is a more artsy looking blade,
and clearly wasn't meant to be a straight-up copy of a practical viking weapon.
If they wanted that they could've just made it an atgeir~
can see the inspiration though, definitely the dandelion version.
Would love to give it a swing when it comes out.
Please don't go Goddess look for her. Keep the Barbarian/Viking look!! Please!!!
Spoiler: What outfit is the Guardian in this video wearing please?
Lmao, looks like the awakening one, but censored.........
Sounds good the awakening coming soon.
I must admit, I would do everything I can to keep her in Viking-mode and not make her a giant Witch when I look at her new awa outfit. Such a shame they did change that and not let her keep the axes in the awakening also but gave her a stick :/
Besides my little disappointment in the awakening, I am pretty much happy with the class. It's fun to play and finally a women of steel :P
Guardian Awakening looks like a Heavy Musa with a little bit of Lahn sprinkled in. Big AOE smashes and spins, twirls, etc, plus a flying engage and a grab with sick range.
Any way I look at it's a two-handed axe. If it was a polearm it would be a bit faster =D
Right? I've already posted this on my twitter but ----I was hoping for more Viking-ish designs. Like this for example!
Let's hope they go back to the previous style!
My grandmother is faster than her movement, when she is walking backward.
