Do not forget that older players where able to buy TET/PEN including some Boss equipment. They only paid a few billion for a PEN while RNG could crank that cost up to 20B+ today.

Correction your base account luck stat is only modified temporarly by the amount of pearls you buy.

Fun fact unless you work for pearl abyss that cant be proven or disproven like with rng stacks are a placebo.

Guild wars 2 is also very shallow I like the fact there are many things to level in this like max energy, lifeskills and etc it is far from similar because you do not need to do quests to level it has themepark elements but guild wars 2 is more themepark then most mmorpgs.

yea when BiS was exotic armor with lege weps, took you ~1week get full BiS armor+accessorys and only reason why did you go for lege was skin and able change stats on fly.. so much progression indeed matter of 2weeks and you reached end game gear
and top of it, leveling alt with scrolls... making max level take matter of minutes

    Your theory is flawed.

That´s a 7x chance for a hardcore player to get gear. Of course it´s possible to be always unlucky, but still: chance is 7x better.

With 350 GS I'm raking in money. When I raise it to 400, 420, 450, 500+............. well nothing changes at all lol. In fact 500,000,000 GS wouldn't make any dif 1 shot is infinite dmg ;)

It would be nice to see a 350-450 GS at Sausan/Pirates vs 50 Million GS in other areas. You might be suprised to see the 50M GS failing in most areas. When it comes to Val Dungeons it would dominate, but go to Fogan's, Basilisk, Sulfer, Naga, Crescents and it's a different story.

The density in those areas would be a problem. (Especially for loot).

What are you talking about? You need to read further than the first line.

@2Cents: If you PvP you see a difference (if everything else is the same) and, yes, pirates and sausans are extremely good money/time but there are indeed a few good alternatives (not saying "way better") when talking about 540+ GS

It's a bit more complicated than that, but you could say that and it'd be mostly true, yes. More money and efficiency, (which is easier to do with better gear and a good PvE class plus or minus tipping points or cash shop items like maid outfits/weight/inventory slots/character slots for more energy, etc.) will mean you spend less time for gambling, but essentially you're still gambling. High end play doesn't need any items, but you need adequate gear to be in the higher echelon of competition in this game with the way it's set up. High end gear is dictated by RNG.

Gear progression is certainly fundamentally inundated with RNG. You could be really lucky, or you could be really unlucky and despite having a decent amount of money- whatever that is- with fair enough efficiency, never get TETs or PENs despite dozens, hundreds, or more of attempts. It'd be rare, but it could happen.

It's luck but its also persistence. If you get enough attempts in you will get there eventually, it's just a matter of time and silver. Some people it will take far less time and silver than others to get to the same point.

If stats on gear is all you care for sure then there is no content. But GW2 has WAY more meaningful content then BDO will ever have. But sure have fun on your dice rolling. Good content, I guess.

So? The endgame is playing actual content such as instanced dungeons, raids or structured PvP. Gearing up with actual stats is a very minor aspect of it and this is - as far as I'm concerned - precisely how it should be: If you want to PvP, you can PvP. If you want to raid, you can raid, you don't have to grind your brains out first. The outcome of these activities are determined by your actual skill as a player and not by how much you grinded and lucked on upgrading your gear.

The only reason the leveling/gearing in BDO is this time-consuming is because there is nothing else in the game. Apart from life-skills. Actual content is really not the strength of this game.

Lastly, to answer the OPs question, yes, the high-end play is entirely determined by luck and by how much you can abuse social welfare.

The system, to start with, cannot be changed - from my point of view. That would mean giving the finger to all veteran players who did go through the whole enchanting process. Not necessarily a smart move (like giving the GW2 base game for free to people buying HoT wasn't smart either, showing same disrespect to the veterans of that game).

Second, you can't add anything that would further boost your chance to successfully upgrade stuff, because that would also lead to a chasm between players who don't mind paying for that said booster and those who don't like the p2...something additions.

Changing loot tables for the monsters would also be a dumb move - because, again, people joining the fights have various levels of gear that they worked for in one way or another and it would lead again to the same problem as with changing the system.

So if anything, lowering the cooldown on world bosses would be the least harmful method of making the game... less grindy (?!). Seeing how scarce most of these encounters are in a day, if a players out at work/school/date/whatever when the spawn happens, the guy/girl gets toasted, leading - obviously - to less gear available both to the player and on the market. Setting the respawns to 6/8 hours for the bosses would make things, I think, a little better. Still RNG, still slow, still a grind - but a bit more activity in the game, a bit more fun, a little less frustration.

So those 1-2 hours consist of 1-2 hours grinding, plus all those other things? Nice calculating.

10m from workers every day... you get that with around 80+ artisan workers, but not as casual lol.

5m in average from board game? That means, for every buff, cronstone and other crap, I can expect an item worth 10mil?

WHY the hell must people exaggerate so much? Every single number is totally off here.

Some people in here don't see how luck changes much. They just can't fathom it. But how can't you? 90% of ANYTHING worth a damn in this game is rng. One rng system, fine, 2,3,4...still fine. But when literally 9/10, 90% is ALL RNG, that makes a HUGE gap between lucky and unlucky. The only true deciding factor being who has the most irl money to get more out of or sway rng. Its the only true constant imo. It's all about the $$$ people

Someone already said it, but the RNG in the game IS the end-game content. It's why you're playing the game, to get that favorable dice roll. If you wanna pay for it, by all means, do so. It's kinda like using cheat codes in the old games, giving you superpowers. But just like in their case, you might just get bored paying to progress through the game.
Not to mention, at some point you might realize that the money spent is/was not worth it and decide to stop doing it. At that point, the full brunt of the effects of the RNG system will hit you like a rabid buffalo.

So there we stand. BDO was not advertised for its beautifully designed instances, the multitude of raids and the plethora of possible gears one could obtain from all the legendary beasts that roam these lands... was it?! No, it was bragging about the amount of grinding you can "enjoy" in this game. And people came to this game. To grind. Then... why all the whining and crying and b*tching about the rng and about the costs of enchanting the sh*t out of the gear?!

RNG really IS the high-end system of this game. Remove it in your mind and ask yourselves what are you left with?!
    1. There's nothing to pvp for, 'cause at that point there's no point in being rich. The pvp doesn't affect the world you're pvp'ing in and the arenas aren't that much attractive, neither in terms of rewards nor of the mechanics.
    2. No variety in gear at all (ONE EFFIN' SET to rule them all), no vanity items buried in some long forgotten dungeons, no minipets or butt knows what other cosmetic eye candies. At that point there's no point in pve either. There's no glory in being a top of a ladder in pve. For the most part they're the glorification of afk tasks. The pve -and I mean it in the actual meaning of "versus" - doesn't shine. Really, what's there to do if you don't have to grind for money - that is killing planetary numbers of not necessarily smart creatures, gathering the actual trash they drop and crawling it to the nearest general trash merchant?!
    3. The story is so shabby and convoluted that you can't get involved or even attracted to it even after multiple playthroughs...

If enchanting the gear would be even remotely easier, the player base would disappear or get rebooted within a year. You get more areas to grind in and a bigger variety of what's JUNK in any other game. That's it and that's all. Everything you need to make more money slow enough in a slightly different environment - not that you guys need a different scenery to grind in, given the fact that you are stuck to Pirates and Sausans like chewing gum to the sole of the shoe.
Removing the shabby dice rolls for everything would require actual revamping of the whole game. More things to do, better pvp system and incentives. More bosses, more types of gear, most probably more "instances" that aren't actual just places to comfortably afk in. Basically, a brand new game. or a FF-style remake. Can you see any of these happening anywhere in the near (or distant) future?!

So really, if you're not here for what BDO offers - different flavours of frustration - then just go try out some different mmos. It's THAT easy.

Just because you play something doesn't mean you can't complain. And it's not easy to leave when money is invested. Money invested based on a future that bdo claimed to offer. They simply aren't holding up to their end of the "deal". Still playing it or not, it allows us to complain because we are supporting it.

Supporting it because it has the best potential of all current games out. Only left as potential and not actual because of the slackness behind the team who claim to be offering something when it's really all about $$$. Which idc if it is, just don't act like you aren't a money hungry pig and claim to be "all for the people" while you take advantage of them

Edit: tweaks are needed. Not a revamp. Me and most others are cool with rng for specific things. But rng in every single aspect of everything is just too much left to chance. And pvp? What pvp?
