You're still making trash crates? I thought trash crates were to reach M2

I'm not sure which patch it was but it was the one where the magnate debuff was introduced I think. Selling trade packs to a manager who is less than 500m away from the one you purchased it from limits you to 1/3 of the XP.

I'm just doing it to get higher trade level fro my own ego. Going past M2 is rather useless as the increase in silver from bargaining is rather negligible. You should only go for M10 if you're interested in doing Magoria trading or high level trading in Kami.

Sorry didn't see your post. I've only just started using alts under 50 to transport crates, before I'd use only my main and I think I was PK'd once? Your biggest threat when moving crates are the bandits as on most occasions your horse will get trapped in the middle of them. Your second biggest threat is the desert yourself, running into some monsters that have a ranged attack will almost always kill your low levelled characters.

If you're going to do a crate run, then you HAVE to be at your PC and paying attention to the screen. Make a note of where all the bandits are with the world map and make sure you escape past them. When crossing the desert make sure you also carry supplies for your low levelled alt. I tend to over-stack the horse on my main, have my alt run to Calpheon to get it out of the stable. I'll then make sure I have at least 50 carrots, purified water, anise tea and potions. When I reach Arehaza I drop it all in the storage.

Is there a reason to use level alt beside the fear of getting pk'd? I thought you would need your char with the M2 buffs at the end

It's better to trader in a bunch of crates at the same time then only 7,157 so that you can maximise the usage of all your buffs. I'll use 9 alts to move crates over to Arehaza then send my main as well. Then just place the mount from each alt in the stable, sell the crates on my main, sell the horse and then delete the alts.

Ah, I understand now but isn't it possible to move the crates via WH transport aswell?

You can only send 100 at a time, it's very slow, you cna't send directly to Valencia (Ancado is the closest) and you lose out on your profit. Not worth it really.

Quick question, as I'm trying to reach M2 for trading I was checking the benefits of trading crates vs selling the processed materials, for Mediah Crate which require 5x white cedar plywood +5x acacia plywood and 1 BSP, selling mats at lowest price on the MP after tax get you around, 127 920k. On one of your previous thread Mediah crate sale for : Mediah Timber Crates - Base Price = 40,230 - M2 Price = 157,313
    So M2 is 30k profit more ?

Yep, you'll need to get the buff though before you sell and you can only sell in Valencia. If you craft in Trent then you get 157,313 silver per crate, if you craft them in Calpheon you'll get 148,618.

If you use Famme's crate calculator you'll be able to see the exact price you get.

I'm crafting them in Calpheon right now... So it'll be barely 20k more, I was wondering if it was worth it for that amount only.

I may only be 20k each crate, when you deliver 7k crates its 140m.
Its nothing extreme, but buying the plywood is the worst price you can make those crates for. Processing from timber or even getting from workers is where alot of the income is, you just have to sell the crates to get that extra 20k/crate.

People have hyped trade income way to much, MOST of the value is made BEFORE you make the crates (getting timber, processing)

Couldn't find an answer but how can I determine whether or not a trader is 500m+ away from where I bought the goods? Does it relate to the distance shown on the autopath? Or is it a straight shot kind of thing.

Probably best to ask support as I'm not really sure. I would guess that it's the auto-path distance rather than a straight line.

Hi guys, I was wondering if using an elephant would be faster? I'm doing the rolling trick right now it's not that bad.

I need some help with the buff quest...when I go to Ibellab the NPC Ashim does not offer me a quest to start the chain. I am level 58, but Artisan 6 in Trade (not Master 2 yet). Do I need to be Master 2 for the quest to be offered?

(oh NVM I figured it out...I went into my Quest menu and relisted all quests and now it is offered)

I've personally never used an elephant, but from reading guides I can see that with the right skills it will be faster and better than using a wagon. A lot of the high traders in my guild also use it so there's no harm in getting it. Here's a guide if you need help getting it.

At one point you won't be able to complete the question chain as one of the requirements for the last few quests is for you to be M2.
