    Great guide!
1.1 -> "Rations" You miss the stamina changes from last global lab update on point.

2.2 -> "Cannon cooldown is shared by both left and right cannons, so you cannot fire left and right cannons in quick succession." The new carrack has a skill to fire both sides on separate cooldowns if i'm reading the patch notes right.

One question. On 4.1 -> "There is a limit of 100 trades per reset. " Is this a global or player limit?

Can you get "Ocean coins" from mobs too? (like from those new hungry hekaru). Or only via barter?

You can harpoon on the cog.

    4. Confirmed that you can use boatman on existing ships. Boatman for new ships not known to be available yet, but the equipment slot exists.

    8. Confirmed that they still drop.

    Only from barter.

Stamina is covered on a separate section.

    Barter limit is per player.

I am totally confused now - so what is "new" mobs' loot table? ("new" hekaru and some such)

Funny how even in their own stream you can see how these winds and currents are so annoying and not a good addition just skip to 6:00:00 they are just stuck there at the canyon to Ancado how can that be fun? You can even see how they got pushed back and that was costal sailing! at Ross or Margoria is far worse the winds and currents are much stronger there, areas that of course they didnt show and by the looks of it didnt even test since all they did was sailing in the archipelago.

Everyone is concerned about the loot and how it may affect the SMH while everyone overlooks the real issue wich is a flawed playground and tools (boats)
Thats the common misconception right there, while all sea monster blue neidans have been changed for green ones and silly enough have keep the same drop numbers (adult stalker/hekaru dropping 20-60 green neidans while their youngling droping 100-140) thats not what will likely kill SMH since there are still all the pirate boats that have their drop tables unchanged and nothing has been confirmed about the other monster losing their 100m guild drop since all of them still drop their blue crafting material.

What will kill it is the horrible concept the devs came up with of Currents & Wind being these invisible overly annoying power walls that will simply restrict your movement or push you back and at times cant move forcing you to leave the boat and swim (they dont afect the npc boats so goldmonts dont give a damn about wind or currents) added to that is the flawed mechanics they are adding to all the boats skills, aside from power (rations on the new patch) will use stamina alike the forest path wagon so you wont be able to activate them in quick succesion like right now, they are also trying to replace the main current form of boat combat wich is ramming by making the skill use the boat's hp on activation wich would of been easy to forget if not by the fact the new cannons come with fixed payload 300 shoot for sailboat 600 for frigate 120 for the hybrids with no way to increase those caps wich are simply insufficent for any decent smh grind, another aspect to keep in mind now is your sailors wich are now a double edged sword they come with both pros and cons and what you get is rng they could get sick during your smh rotation, deplete or increase your power bar, reduce or increase you ship hp and you have to feed them just like workers.

Aside from the current large sea monsters Hekaru, Stalker, Candidum, Nineshark, Black Rust and current younglings Candy, Rust and Nine the expedition added 4 new ones being youngling Stalker/Hekaru and Dryfter Stalker, Hungry Hekaru.
The expedition changed the loot of the adult monster, only the blue neidans were swapped by green ones and they left the quantities the same. Younglings drop all green loot and the Dryfter/Hungry hekaru drops these
    [IMG]

Yes they do use both, Rations works exactly the same as Power (yellow bar in the UI) while Stamina (Small and slim white bar just like the character's) is an additional resource added to the boats, so your boat skills will use their usual chunk of rations on activation and will consume a set amount of stamina wich will serve as a lock or cooldown of sorts preventing you to use skills in quick succesion the oversight is that its not a cooldown per skill but for all boat skills as a whole.
You can see the stamina lock in action on the Dev stream video just above, look just how long it takes to be able to use breezy sail after it was used and how it consumes both power (rations yellow bar) and stamina (the white bar just below).

You may now think im just a sour puss bashing on the upcoming content however just go and take a look at the Korean free board, Vell was a dissaster after patch ppl preferred to abandon the boats because it was impossible to sail back to mainland and rather swam back, pretty much all new posts there are complains about wind and currents and how messed up rations consuption are. The wind and current system is soo messed up they are asking to either be scrapped or rolled back.

I think in 1.1 this sentence is not correct anymore "Rations: Replaces power of the ship. Functionally identical to existing system, in that rations are consumed when you move the ship or use ship skills." Or is the ship still using stamina and Rations for skills?

So basicly those changes would be decent if not winds/currents and losing hp on ramming?

Hungry Heraku drops the new materials used in crafting the materials for upgrading Epheria Sailboat/Frigate to the Epheria Trader/Destroyer.

Young sea monsters drop the "young" equivalent of the adult sea monster drops.

Ship skills will consume both rations and stamina. Stamina functions more like a global skill cooldown rather than a resource.

The return trip from Vell's location requires a non-straightforward path heading towards Crow's Island then Iliya Island, then finally back to Velia. That being said, the current's are not particularly distributed evenly, so it does make traveling a lot more challenging.

From the sound of things, the current drops from Hekaru (spikes) and Ocean Stalkers (skins) are now useless unless selling to Guild Shop. The things they were used for, eg Margoria Dark Iron, Black Gold Ingot and Tough Flax fabric which were needed for boat accessories are now pointless as the new boats don’t use them.

The coins being mentioned seem to be new ones from trading, so the Goldmont coins are superfluous too.

Am I correct in these predictions/assumptions?

Any word on how existing ships or improved versions of existing ships cope with changed sea conditions compared to upgraded versions?

I suspect part of the confusion lies between there being an improved ship and an upgraded one. From what I can gather, the improved version uses the original ship parts but the upgraded has a totally new set using drops from new sea monsters.
So if you improve your ship to get below deck cannon capability, they are fine, but if you trade it in for an upgraded bigger version they are useless.

Just to clarify, "improved ship" refers to "Improved Epheria Sailboat/Frigate" which is a relatively minor upgrade from Epheria Sailboat/Frigate which adds cannons but retains the on-deck cannons. You can use the old gear on these ships.

"Upgraded ship" refers to "Epheria Trader/Destroyer". The reason why the guide previously referred to them as upgraded ships is because the original translations coincided with the existing ship names (e.g. the Epheria destroyer was called "Epheria Frigate" at one point in time) which would be confusing for NA/SEA players.

You cannot use the old gear on the Trader/Destroyer.

Okay to understand that now, you can improve your current Epheria Sailboat/Frigate to improved Epheria have a double cannons(normal human ones on deck and below the captain-controlled ones)???

Todays' patch on Russian servers totally screwed up the Margoria - all mobs except for pirate ships competely disappeared. So you cannot do dailies, and most of the guild quests anymore. Large pirate ship though is easy to kill now, 4 rams is all it takes to sink it. Weird stuff.

That's a *heavy sigh* moment. I launched a Frigate last night along with close to 1bil in ship parts. Considering most everyone is NOT going to want a minor upgrade (I don't) I wasted billions on a ship I could have sold the registration for plus the parts and just continued with my sailboat as "good enough" until the destroyer became available.

You mean upgrading a frigate to the destroyer? Without improving it?

Yes that's what I was thinking. Reasoning: I'm assuming the "Upgrade Ship" the Trader or Destroyer are made from scratch.

    Second thought:
Who knows, it might be worth it anyway because the Sea Monster part materials for the Destroyer might be a PITA to get without using an "Improved ship". So... go out and get what you need yourself or buy it off the market once another player makes it available for purchase.
