Nah..and, you may not get one.

People just be peopling. Dont worry about em, its the same people who still vote no to dmg numbers, and who still want the enhancement mechanic not to change 1 bit, or fought against the central market change because "then the game would get boring", or "lose any mystery" they think it still has.

To some people packing for the journey is the whole journey, so having gear be obtainable is a bad thing. In this case some people just dont want bonuses applied retroactively, cause i guess they think it affects their, whatever....Oh well.

cp=more money from passive income if it was retroactive it could hurt the markets even more honestly I think they did pretty good with this change as is because it helps new players and us as it is easier for us to get more cp too

People who are against this are trying to scream, to yell and to blame others of crying, where I kinda fail to see where the tears are in the first place.
About the change, new players don't have more contribution after the patch than before, so following this logic, it is not a catch up either.

Still waiting for real arguments against this.

Then it is only a matter of time in that case, before the market is hurt. A lot of "end game" nodes and functionnality have a high cost in contribution points, so for vets, it is not like this could unlock 10 new nodes in any case.

The message behind this change for players who are commiting to this kind of activity is to stop commit for it and do it softly, since a change could occur at any given time. This should not be the case, the progress of these people should be taken into account, and not denied, thus sending the message that making progress is and always will be a nice thing.

I think it should be retroactive, simply because if you grind cp, you can hit a cap with quests where all you have left are a few dailies. In that case, if they make it easier to grind, it doesn't really help you because you already burned through most of the cp content. Gear, exp, skill exp, etc still have the ability to grind whatever was lost so it makes sense those aren't retroactive.

What most overlook is, that when you hit the softcap(max xp needed to gain CP), such 'buffs' don't affect you really then, because all the 'overinvested' xp go into the 500k+ xp cp then, which need way more than those 1000s saved for lower cps ones.
So everyone Q.Q that it would remove the catchup mechanic have no clue what they talk about. The lower ones would gain a) same Cp value for the lowered amount and b) need less for future CPs compared to those sitting at softcap.
    So yes to this!
