They could target a NAP, but aside from that they would not be able to shut down the entire internet. Too many routers with BGP would switch over as spanning tree protocol is not used much.

With this kind of attack to their support team. i hope you get stuff taken away. Toxicity is a terrible attribute to have in your daily life.

Shut down the net for a large region would be the right way of phrasing it. also keep in mind the number is growing each day at an unfathomable rate. That's because people don't think beyond "free movie." It is what it is, and the numbers are out that a well coordinated ddos would easily disable the net for entire large populations.

Only thing I would like is an extra 30% off coupon so when I get pearls things will be cheaper ^.^ I know it isn't their fault. It's sad that this even happened. :'(

I'm not opposed to simple requests, a ton of us have VP's and Kama buffs slowly draining down with these attacks. So if they do something to compensate us. I will be happy. If they don't, I enjoy the game anyhow, so as long as they get it up and running... I will be happy. I just hope this massive attack is tackled and dealt with.

Also, they person I originally replied to, called the support team "retards" which isnt something to get them to be nice in response.

Live streamers on twitch that are playing on NA seem to have no disconnection issues.
I checked on various streams, they are fine.

    Why?

Because a ddos rarely shutdown the entire server for everyone. it floods it, causing the server to prioritize usage. Meaning some wont be affected. guildie of mine hasn't dced once, he isn't a streamer. let me guess he's somehow privileged because of his low gear score?

They are playing NA server but they are not from NA, that is my hypothesis.

EDIT: I have lots of hypothesis but I can only say this one out...

Hmm, can we get an ultra low bandwidth play mode to use during these spooky DDOS and Halloween events?

It's usually because the attacker is hitting a router so the backbone connection is still up. As multiple routers are used, you could test by using a vpn and switching the area you are logging in from. Say the attack hits the Atlanta router, you could vpn to Fort Worth and still get in. That's what happened last time (about a year ago).
