    keep in mind alot of these people where around when they said they wouldn't have certain things, such as selling pearl items. pvp penalties was one of those problems so you are going to have people arguing that point for that reason.

    as of right now the karma system is not balanced for the fact that it has made griefing all the more acceptable. in order for the current system to work perfectly three things would have to happen.

    1. balance all classes for pve
    2. create more money and xp incentive in valencia
    3. not have douches in the world who grief for the fun of it (both sides of the equation). <not really going to happen, games allow you to be whatever the hell you want to be within the restrictions of the design.

    I don't see fixes such as class balance or the money incentive coming anytime soon since these have been going on since launch for class balance, and the valenciah update for money incentives

    I agree with you that either side shouldn't just be putting blanket statements, however I do not fault either for doing so, sometimes people rant just to add depth to a discussion and maybe thats all they can do because they don't have ideas for how to fix it.

    Yeah I dont blame folks for getting to X, though I expect people to take responsibility for promoting it of there own free will.
    Anyway... whatever.
    But yes I entirely agree and have been fighting for the recgnition that in the PK vs KS argument that that one is not the solution to the other. Imo/exp and what I believe is demonstrable, PKing has more problems than KSing. Specifically with little karma system to temper it. With the fact that griefing can move from Wizards KSing to Warriors PKing. Its only changing the nature of the issue. While also allowing for multiple other abuses as well. Vice versa to a degree ofc as well.

    As you say, I find it very unlikely that the classes will be balanced for either PvP or PvE. I think its required, whether they act on it or not, that Valencia needs to be viable.
    The logical solution to a griefy player base isnt to directly challenge people who live for the fight but to give them as little room to move as possible.
    This is where I think party incentive comes in as the strongest solution(thus far).
    Where a party would have reason to group up this would all but entirely solve the issue of fighting over some areas and in the same stroke it promotes being in a group.... which by definition is much harder for 1-2 trolls to grief on and KS from.

    Anyway, imo they should allow PKing and punish it as the scaled down version of murder that it is. They should add some more open ended style PvP like daily guild missions that actually create structured wardecs between consenting guilds as well as some other ideas. I would actually like to see some extremely high value regions like some games do with islands, where the region auto-flaggs everyone and you can truly engage in that open world slog over high value target mobs, etc.

    Anyway, I need to see to some other things so Imma stop thinking outloud(relative) now. Btw, Mob drops including turn-in rates and specific item drops have been adjusted before. So Valencia could totally be buffed some. May also be relevant to nurf some of the gains at Sausans. Inb4 screaming children rant me for that one. ^_^
    Not till its useless just not so it outperforms Valencia.

    not even going to bother reading that wall of text ... jouska advertise the game as is . he clearly said that one of the reason for pk/decs are figthing for grind spots. and don't call me friend after saying I failed to explain something . The game is desined to be a competitive pvp game. The only way to gain exp is through mobs and if you wanna stay competitive you need to grind at the best spots but these spots are wanted by other players so you fight for your spots. You're talking to me like you made the game and you know better than everyone else.

    Dig a little "my friend" and you will see that BDO was first advertise the way I explained it.

    Dig a little and youd find out it both was not and is not. In fact its original release info did not even include ref to any kind of player vs player content at all. That was assumed and first clarified around the trailers or gameplay vids, whichever idc, for the siege/node content.

    I agree with most your post, except for this first bit.

    They ("they" being PA/Kakao), don't really appear to have had any real decision making processes before changing the karma loss. I really don't understand why they would make this choice, for resolving what is an increasingly worse issue.

    Removing the XP loss on death from being PKd was an excellent choice. Why should someone lose XP because some jackasshole decided to come by and gank them while fishing/training/gathering, or even grinding? That just encouraged assholes to be assholes, killing noobs and laughing for costing them XP. Removing the loss was a great idea.

    Changing the karma loss level is a good thing for those that hate being shoved out of an area by bullies, but, just like before the change, there will always be people who try to take advantage and abuse the system. When you cram this many people this close together, arguing over a small zone, you're going to have conflict. The adjustment in XP for Elric's will help a little, but it's the wrong direction. Instead of buffing other, lower level grinding areas, they seriously need to buff the higher levels to encourage the 59's and above to "move on". I've got two or three higher level grind spots where I get some excellent drops, and rarely EVER see another player, but the XP is minimal, and the silver rate is not at the same as an equivalent Pirates run. This, I think, is the major malfunction. I would be fine with a karma rollback, if it coincided with a major buff to drops and XP at, say, sulfur mins and Pila Ku, or hell, even Basi/Cadry/Centaur/crescents/etc.The fact that we're having the problem at a Level 53 questing/grinding area is ridiculous, with so many level 59s and 60s being the ones whinging.

    The ROI (return on investment) level for Pirates is an excellent one. The level requirement is a bit higher, but not so much that a decent player can't enjoy themselves grinding. The pain in the backside to get there, as well as managing the drops and turnins is offset by the excellent payoff from doing the turnins. If you really want to make money, you turn in all those coins at a "linked" trade point, and that requires tons of PVE work as well. Pirates is the goal they should have for all the upper areas. Instead, it just seems they've just tossed out some mobs in hard to reach areas, with little change in dropped items, and XP increase for higher level mobs is not rising appropriately.

    I know the CMs are doing their best to transmit concerns to the publisher/developers. I'm not sure that all this back and forth of "he's picking on me" and "he's just a little carebear" is helping. Those type statements, combined with the level of salt and salt grinders in here, is probably just making the companies laugh and point at us all.

    I welcome the karma change, but I'd also welcome a bounty hunter system to counter grief-play. Flag up a family name for x minutes/hours/days based on the amount of reports. ( obv decreasing report value when ppl of the same guild report someone to counter abuse when a whole guild reports a single person just to grief him) Probably coupled with a probation time so bounty time may be cumulative for "famous grief players".

    Reported players become yellow named, flagging them to get killed without karma penalty, nothing more. Would solve grief-playing but would keep a karma system in place to keep PKers low.

    Not a perfect system but it would help counter griefers who want to overtake farmspots from other ppl.

    Soooo server lagg still isnt fixed, instead you support karma bombing? Well I see what this game has become... I guess I'll be a karma bomber too then, since I cant even grind normally with this lag anyways.

    No one goal endings. You clear character creation and get to do whatever the **** you like. Mange a node empire, do some low personal investment **** like auto pathing trade or gathering. Kill mobs till your fingers drop off. Gear up, lvl up, socialize, murder folks, join a guild and go to war! and/or do it all. Welcome to not linear gaming.
    Which polls? What are the options folks are given?

    Well spoken but even so what makes this Game litteraly Tagged as a Whole Sandbox based Game? this game has been created from community influence this game is a Community driven game where the community should have decide the rules but things are out of balance nowadays now just now the most of those loss of Balancing happens because it encourages just NOW abusive behaviour

    PKing is the apex of abusive gaming. Short of outright hacking.
    Not only does PKing not actually stop anything like KSing but it opens up a whole world of exceptionally s***y behavior. Which leads to game deaths and is objectively a onesidedly balanced concept in favor of the statistical minority.
    Servays have been done since Ultima online that allways show the majority engages in primarily PvE content.
    While most if not the vast majority of us want PvP in the game and many, like myself, support tentative PKing systems, PKing and similarly abusive systems like Wardeccing always seem to get smuggled in with them. Which attracts a crowd of elitists and griefers whos sole mentality is to **** with other players or engage in nothing but PvP.

    More topical to this game, the issue everyone plugs is not PKing. Iv already gone out of my way to openly state that a personal preference for PKing is 1000times more valid than using KSing. But people insist its an issue of fighting KSers. So if thats the case, then there are actually solutions to that issue. Both short term and long term ones.

    As for the rest, my comment about this being a sandbox is to counter those saying its PvP. Making a somewhat ambiguous appeal to authority or origin. When in fact the authority and origin were both selling the game as PvX sandbox.
    This was, and is a sandbox MMO. One where people can chose to engage in different forms of content ranging from PvP to PvE to passive engagement or even arcade/party style content. Social stuff too.

    Many of us think they should promote there strongest aspects(As they have started, slowly, to do) instead of getting dragging into another niche ArcheAge clone.

    Plus if you wanna talk popularity in concept PvP never wins.
    Show me a study done with a PvX gaming community that tilts more towards the PvP than the PvE content.

    One such poll was even done on... Black desert fan forums....?

    Hmmm... I have questions about that page but ultimately shows my point.

    Sandbox includes a lot of things and Black Desert is doing them a lot better than most. But another grief fest PK game or a game that continues to punish social gaming, while trying to be an MMO, is gonna suffer for it.
    They can and should play to there strengths.

    Pking may be antisocial, but so are burping and farting. I see it (and them) as part of the game, not griefing.
