Since the Director of BDO stated during the Heidel ball to keep providing feedback and suggestions for classes, I would like to state my suggestions for Awakened Valkyrie and provide reasons for each suggestion. But first, a little description about the state of Awakened Valkyrie coming from someone who has mained this class for almost 6 years(small note i will exclude the current bugs with DLC making the class unplayable since that will hopefully be addressed soon): Awakened Valkyrie in its current form has the least amount of fully protected CCs out of any class in the game. In comparison to succession(which is in a good spot at the moment), Awakened Valkyrie is severely lacking in consistent group damage, support for allies in group play, and crowd control in general. In regards to her damage people always resort to her ultimate saying it does too much damage. I can say for certain that most Valkyrie mains would love for that damage to be split into other skills such as Lancia Lustitae, blitz stab etc. I can also definitely say that tamer, zerker, guardian, warrior, lahn, dk, and other classes in general have better uses of BSR than Valkyrie 100%. After her ultimate her hardest hitting skill is terra sancta... which is good for 1v1 but a complete joke in large scale as it requires set up with celestial spear and has a cast time(both of which are not protected). Hastilidium would be her third hardest hitting skill in awekening and one of her very few super armors, but for some odd reason, the entire wind up animation of that skill is not protected. Moving onto the support role that Valkyrie seems to have randomly in her kit. Valkyrie is definitely jack of all trades, master of none. All of her utility spells, excluding heavens echo, are all completely out matched by witch and wizard. For a class that seems like it was intended to support its allies, it is very weak in that aspect. Finally Crowd Control or CC. This is something done very well in succession. Its very strong forward guard stun on shield throw in succession definitely makes the class very enjoyable and viable in small scale fights such as 3v3,5v5, RBF etc. Though it is done nicely in succession, I cant say the same for Awakening. Her only group CC in Awakening is her Vacuum which is on a 30 second cool down, and is server reliant for it to even go off when its cast. Every other CC she has is unprotected aside from just counter which has the smallest hitbox (directly infront of you, with the width of a needle). My suggestions: Bringing Awakened Valkyrie up a slight notch - 1. Equalize pre awakened and awakened block 2. Make pre awakened shield throw a forward guard. 3. Add a float to Flow: Revelation Sanctus Reasoning: As we can see from succession these small changes can make a world of a difference for awakened Valkyrie and will allow her to peel for her team mates in larger fights as well as give her something else to do aside from sitting in block. These changes will not affect succession. The float on revelation sanctus would make Valkyrie a threat in large scale fights as the aoe is wide for this skill, and would be her only super armor CC skill(Valkyrie currently has no Super Armor CC skills in pre awakening or awaking which every other class has, this is excluding BSR making this skill a cc would be her first one). Even with the suggested changes, she still wouldn't have as many useful protected ccs as she currently does in succession. Making Awakened Valkyrie Viable: 1,2,3 from the previous list 4. Removing the CC on terra sancta and giving it super armor. 5. Removing the wind up SA gap on Hastilidium. 6. Adding full Super Armor on BSR terra sancta 7. Fix downward descent damage registration on ultimate when aiming at a target below you. Reasoning: adding SA to terra sancta means she will safely be able to do okay damage in a group instead of being forced to use her SA dash for damage. She will also still require an unprotected set up with celestial spear before it does good damage allowing for Valk players to take a risk. Classes that have hard hitting skills with super armor and dont need to set up for the skill(s) include: Guardian Warrior Kuno Musa Maehwa DK Lahn Witch Wizard Striker If almost every other class in the game has their hardest hitting skill be protected, why cant the class with the biggest shield in the game have that same protection? The fix on hastilidium should have happened a long time ago, or the wind up animation needs to be shortened. Also, No damage registering on her ultimate simply because your target is below you doesnt make sense as the regular non ultimate version of the skill properly descends and does damage. Making Awakened Valkyrie Good in seige/large scale: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 pulled from above. 8. Change sanctitas de enslar to be iframe on cast and SA on landing 9. Being able to Use Enslar to jump to allies or target location, grant allies a buff/heal on landing(doesnt grant Valk the heal/buff so it works like purificatione) 10. Buff Valkyrie block to match guardian block or increase block gauge by 25-50% 11. Rework Valkyries second rabam which currently combines divine power and elions protection(Valk PA) to be a second, but shorter, PA. As of now I do not understand how it even made it into live servers. Reasoning: the change to enslar making it iframe on cast would give Valkyrie 1 reliable iframe skill. Enslar jumping to allies is a direct buff to Valkyrie in group pvp as it can give her an escape route as well as open different styles of gameplay(whether she wants to be aggresive or supportive, also jumping to ally would be disabled on 100% rage cast). Buffing her block to match guardian, or increasing its gauge by a set amount, will allow for a few more seconds of maneuverability before it breaks. As you cant move when your block is broken because most of the awakened movement skills will cancel with her block gauge at 0. She carries around the LARGEST shield in the game so it makes sense that she would have a good block. The rabam needs to be revisited. To sum it all up; Awakened Valkyrie has the least Iframes, least CC, and least protections out of almost all the classes in the game. Awakened Valkyrie is unplayable in its current state in anything more than a 1v1. It is not fun and needs revision. The suggestions that I have written above come from my 6 years experience playing this class. tl;dr: 1. Need more protected damage and cc 2. Need a better block guage. 3. Need a better escape option. Of course with all these changes Valks damage would need to be tuned down a bit and every Awakened Valkyrie would gladly trade damage for playability. But.. Until Awakened Valkyrie gets fixed, Succession remains infinitely better. feel free to post feedback/opinions on what Awakened Valkyrie needs in order to be playable in groups again.
