Hi, I am at a bit of a loss currently. I for the love of bdo can NOT catch a Moray fish for a quest I am currently doing. I have tried several spots out in Vadabin and Juur Sea and now must have got well over 40 yellow catches of other fish. I won’t list all the fish I have so far but to give you an idea of how committed I have been to it, I just hit catching my 50x silver key and around 45 Ancient Relic Crystal Shards. Skate, Blackfin Sea Perch and Sailfish for the quest “Must Have Fish, Queeek!” found are about 10 each (Sailfish 30++). The last Fish Moray is 0 and is driving me mad! Many many hours of active fishing...and now on my 5th day at quest. Please help me with my adventure. I have already read the following great guides. https://gamenet.ru/users/alfavitta/post/23Cia3: and http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/128296-morgoria-fish-species-list-provisional/
As of Oct 10 all fish species guides are out of date. You can catch Moray in Balenos Islands and Mediah Sea.
As Traxxle has said, fish tables have changed though not announced in the last 10 October 2018 Patch Note update. Appears ALL Margoria sea regions now drop the same yellow species which is all those across Margoria except Moray and Grunt. Thjis included Juur Sea. Traxxle offers the best advice now along with Velia Beach hotspot. My draft list for yellow species in all Margoria fish tables, including Ross, Juur and Vadabin seas is: Margoria inc. Ross Sea revised fish table yellow species - DRAFT Blackfin Sea Perch Cuvier Goliath Grouper Greater Amberjack Nibbler Porgy Sea Bass Skate Smokey Chromis Striped Bonito Striped Jewfish Sunfish Tilefish Tuna Those species not included that were previously Moray Grunt
For future reference, it's looking like Mediah Sea (same as Altinova also from memory) will be the best place specifically for Moray. Balenos Islands full catch I only got four. This is a sample catch from Mediah Sea (provided by @Wyrdrune) which is hopeful for Moray. If I find any other decent options I'll post. Also, well worth using Mediah rod & Maple float, preferably maximum enhancement to +10 for the +10 chance to catch Rare (yellow) will help to catch them faster.
Note that in the latest 17 October 2018 Patch Notes that they apparently buffed the Moray drop rate (along with Grunt and Sea Eel) in (probably) Velia Beach hotspot. So worth trying there for them now. Not had a chance to test this yet; Probability in catching Fish in fishing points at Velia has been changed. The probability to catch Grunt, Moray, and Sea Eel (of Big Fish) has increased.
