According to many reports, gathering blood and meat give the best results.
Tend to agree meat or blood. As a Master 6 with DOU Accessories, TRI Outfit & Magic Tools I get 25 to 35 fragments off 300 Energy.
yup, meat, blood. You lose out on the Ancient Spirit Dust.
If i may be so bold as to throw in a comment:
It appears as if whatever is good for caphras is bad for black gem frags and vice versa.
Like blood is the worst for caphras but best for gem frags.
Or Wood is best for caphras but garbage for black gem frags and so on.
I have no stats to back it up but anecdotally at least this matches my experience.
I did not gather that hardcore, but I can tell you that since last week's patch after spending total 1k Energy I did not get a single Black Gem Fragment from chopping trees.
Meat and blood is the only way to get them at decent rates.
800 masteries and around 60 per/h avg on blood
Oh this is a lot. My gathring skill is low so i use magic tool and my best was 35 from 573 energy.
Yes, we have like a 1 frag per 100 blood avg in guild, and get 6k blood and some per h
Strangely, tree sap collecting did not give me many gems, while sucking animals' blood quickly gave me some.
So, is this really related to the gathering method, or the object you're collecting on?
What Keldorn linked may confirm this hypothesis.
Gathring trees for sap is only C tier for fragments (like shown in the chart).
Yep, that's why I wonder if this is related to the gathering method or the object you're collecting on.
Def depends on the object you gather, since ive alrdy enough black gems/fragments i swapped from 800 mastery blood gathering to 900 mastery stone gathering and can confirm that the table out of jeffs guide looks very accurate
I usually get 3-4 doing steppe's quest. That's bout the only gathering (tanning knife) i ever do. Well, that, and every-time i'm trying to get on my mount when it's parked in bushes. No fragments to report on that method.
