so i dont get banned. is there a list somewhere?
if i play ff14 with a parser up will bdo ban me?
u should probably avoid running bdo while playing bdo
Anything that injects code into the game. everything else should be fine.
Anything that injects code, any other game that runs on Xingcode 3 as they will conflict with each other.
You can play FFXIV fine while BDO runs in the tray, just expect a little FPS drops. The parser though... I wouldn't go for it.
Dont run illegal programs and you wont get banned. Anyone that says "I ran xxxxx program and I got banned!!!" is lying. They ran a cheating or hacking program and got caught. Other than that you're fine
there has to be a list somewhere though of programs to avoid running while bdo is in tray. i heard people having video editing software up and getting banned were they lying?
They probably were. As for recording and editing software, I ran NVidia Shadowplay and AMD Relive with no problems whatsoever.
No issues with video or photo editing software. Now if said software is less than legitimately licensed, you might run into issues... but I've run Photoshop, Davinci Resolve, AMD ReLive, and Handbrake without problems. Haven't run into issues with media players like Foobar/AIMP or using media keys either.
What I have run into problems with is using certain functions in Visual Studio and some debugging/process explorer apps in the sysinternals suite. Few months ago I was working on a coding project, decided to take a break and check on some AFK activity and noticed BDO/xigncode was like "lol nope" and quit. Had to reboot my machine to get the game to launch, but I haven't run into any issues since then. And I think it's good that there's some level of protection built in. Now I make sure to do the occasional compiling/debugging/troubleshooting while the game is shut down.
TL;DR: If you're playing the game legitimately, you're not going to run into any problems. If you cheat, you'll be banned.
The people who give xyz story on how they were banned "unfairly" don't realize that a lot of information is compiled, filtered, and reviewed. Don't listen to busted cheaters.
haha that gave a good laught... people who say they were banned running programs like video editing software or anything the like are blatantly lying.
No such software would inject any code into the bdo files or reading anything from bdo files.
Every report of "false positive" bans where the person used software XY has to be taken with a huge grain of scepticism.
Simply all kinds of cheats, guys. Obvious hacks, bots, and automatizations. It's not hard to figure out.
Video software... lul
Remember that one guy that got banned and made a new forum account to show his "list" of programs he used to "prove" that he wasn't cheating? lol
Sucks to be a developer trying to work while afk in BDO as Xigncode blows up when I try to run a lot of dev tools
Just stick to the standard hacks and bots, they seem completely safe, if you are still unsure, just stream ;)
