Unless you have $40,000 or more to throw at this game or spend 40,000+ hours grinding or the combination of the two.
In other words either labor or throwing away money. It is real simple you see; whatever you do is either fun or it isn't. The illusion is "preparing to someday maybe have fun". If op is asking such a question, he/she is obviously not having fun whether he/she knows it or not, maybe he/she is looking for someone to spell out for him/her.
Its quite simple, when u r winning its fun, when u arent it isnt. XD
Since alot of winning comes with the gear, and u can pay for the gear with real cash... pay to win is the fast way to fun.
That is only another illusion imo. Because if "winning" to you is never dying or never being defeated then you are invincible, then consequently bored. And never dying or losing is impossible, especially in this game, where "dying" can be one click or lag spike away from happening.
It's fun when you make it fun. With BDO you get out what you put in. If you hate grinding and continue grinding, don't be surprised when you're like "I hate BDO!" If you like life-skilling, you won't be surprised when when you find there is so much to do. If you like grinding you won't be surprised when there's a ton of crap to grind. If you just want to sit around a complain about a game, well you can do that too.
Why don't you just use a trial char in rbf for now? And honestly you need to get atleast 269ap to be really useful in pvp which doesn't take very long these days.
Who cares about rbf. Go out there in the wild and pk some random dude. Or at least try to. His reaction to it will be fun either way.
i can tell you for sure, that always losing isnt fun, and that CAN happen in bdo in tiered wars for ungeared guild.
Kinda funny argument actually.
Grinding - although a completely braindead activity - is basically the only "active" gameplay offers. Life-Skilling is basically the (Semi-) AFK alternative to that.
So well... In a certain sense, I really don't get your point.
I mean: BDOs "main event" is supposed to be PvP - especially Node Wars. If you first have to suffer through 6.987.624 hours of braindead gameplay (or - for that matter - the same amount of time in super-passive (Semi-) AFK life-skilling content) and the grief-inducing casino-enhancement just to be able to partake in said "main event", then well... It's fun... when you make it fun?
But hey! At least it's pretty! That's something, isn't it?
This comment is GOLD. Thank you for summing up my frustrations.
BDO is a grinder-game though.....you know, kinda like Warframe / PoE / Diablo? Except in BDO, we have way more activities available, an open-world, PvP, and even a casino if you feel like taking risks for your gains.
This would not account for other failures by Pearl Abyss like Witch Vs Striker/Mystic upon their release. You would need a 90 Gear Score advantage to still be the under dog in a horribly unbalanced pathetic release.
While that has been changed to some degree, examples like this exist all over the game.
You are literally clueless about PvP. You don't deserve to achieve anything in PvP. You have no clue about it, you probably can't play, so you just die. Get more gear and you will just die on the ground in 2 seconds instead of 1. There are people with Level 64, 65 and 66. I'm fighting my 65.70 Sorc guildie from alts at 61 constantly. We are also fighting war targets and he still dies to a random fart if he's caught.
It was either gear of Pure DP Blackstone. But you probably have no clue what the latter is...
This game is based on brackets. If you aint in the bracket,YOU AINT IN THE BRACKET.
It is confirmed that each level increase provides approximately a 7% increase to all stats. So that 7% edge can put some people into the bracket above them. Others do not see any difference because they still in the same bracket. These are facts, so go slither back into your hole and take your toxic rudeness with you.
This right here shows you don’t understand how the game works.
Again - this shows you don’t know how the game works.
What you just posted here isn’t fact.
You DO NOT gain a 7% stat boost from level 61-62.
brackets are based on your Sheet ap/dp. If we all got 7% boosts per level everyone would be chasing levels and that’s just not the case.
You don't know how this game works yet if you've only played for 3 months. Just the pvp mechanics are so complicated that you need to study then experience them to know how to pvp (you don't jusy go spamming skills). If words like super armour, iframe, animation lock, animation linger, cc counter, knockdown, stiffen, knock back, stun, float, hit stagger, animation acceleration, mouse movement, forced desync, protection rotation, animation cancel mean nothing to you or you dont know the difference between them you won't know how to pvp or even why you are loosing in pvp. Cc immunity is only a minor part of the mechanics. On top of that theres 16 classes to experience and learn how to fight against. You learn these by reading "the book of combat" then living in BA for maybe 6 months purely 1v1ing people. After that you have to learn how to group pvp and how to maximise your classes role in this situation. This doesnt mean you can expect to just go in and get kills and live. You have to learn how to live in group combat and how to get kills without dying. After that you have to learn how to do all that in real world.
It's alot of work to be proficient at pvp in this game. Luckily the majority of ppl are just average players. The masters of their classes dont have trouble fighting even hard cap people on trial gear if theyre just average pvpers. So gear requires skill to back it up.
The fun (if you like to improve yourself) lies in putting in the effort and becoming proficient at something e.g pvp and seeing ur progress by beating people like your current self. You don't need to and shouldnt spend alot of money in this game because you cant buy pvp skills. There are also smart ways of gearing up that do not require money at all, just a bit of patience. Even if all you do is afk fish and pvp you can get to soft cap eventually.
Join your class discord, talk to people who seem skilled in game, they will help you.
it becomes fun after you come to the realization you will NEVER catch up to the people who quite literally dump boat loads of cash on the game and that you have no semblance of a chance in hell to catch them gear wise, only then does the game become "fun" because then the only reason you login is to achieve personal "goals" or fulfilling "personal achievements"
which feel more rewarding to you as an individual personal satisfaction > chasing after the carrot on stick, if you're one of the unfortunate souls that is forever lost chasing the carrot on the stick trying to be the best, you'll be forever unhappy, because theirs always a bigger whale in the sea.
